Men Only Hit The Things At Which They Aim

If You Aim at Nothing, You Will Hit it Every Time.

1 Corinthians 9: 24–27 NKJV :

(24) “Do you not know that those who run in a race all run, but
one receives the prize? Run in such a way that you may
obtain it.

(25) And everyone who competes for the prize is temperate in
all things. Now they do it to obtain a perishable crown,

(26) Therefore I run thus: not with uncertainty. Thus I fight:
not as one who beats the air.

(27) But I discipline my body and bring it into submission, lest,
when I have preached to others, I myself should become
disqualified.”

There are always very good reasons why some people make it big in the living of their life while others don’t. There will always be people come into your life who will either uplift, encourage, and inspire you to greater and higher levels of personal performance, or they will have little or no impact and influence on you. Most usually the impact and influence people have on one another is not an immediate thing. It is, rather, a long term slow developing influence that takes place over many months and years. That is why achieving personal success is a drawn out slow process. It is a “crock pot” affair, not a “micro-wave oven” situation.

Now the truth is that most people are always in much too big of a hurry in living their life. They want everything to happen quickly,…they want what they want and they want it right now! These type folks never get themselves properly prepared for success so as to be able to give success a real chance to happen in their lives. Therefore, they never accomplish the success levels for which they aspire and for which they are more than capable of achieving. They easily get discouraged, they allow their positive mental attitudes to slide backwards into negative mind sets, they are always looking for and finding fault with everything and everybody else,… and the next thing you know, these wanna-be successes give up their attempts of succeeding and quit performing. They wind up drifting off into oblivion and are never heard from or seen again….a sad and sorrowful situation.

As it is with all of the events and circumstances of life, if you don’t know where you are going, you will not like where it is that you finally wind up. You need an aiming point, you need a target,…you need an end point at which to arrive…before beginning your journey up your chosen road to success.

You don’t try to succeed,…you either succeed or you fail. All Success begins with a mighty dream, is followed by a great decision that you will accomplish your dreams, and then at last materializes once you have completed all of the required work needed to turn your dreams into reality.

Achieving success is all a matter of mental preparedness, proper positioning, and most important,…complete flexibility. With these three conditions correctly in place in a person’s life,…achieving success is just a matter of time and effort. You will reach your goals, and thereby progressively turn your dreams into reality. This is how you succeed. Period!

Flexibility is so important because whenever you come upon an obstacle, detour, or some rough events that slow your travel, then instead of allowing these type things to derail you, hinder your efforts, or even stop you dead in your tracks,…you will simply keep your mental focus on your dreams and goals, make appropriate adjustments in your thinking and work habits, and go back to work in a more intelligent manner so as to enable you to accomplish your mission, realize your dreams, and succeed!

This is all very possible to those folks who do not give up just because they missed hitting a goal, were injured and are unable to operate at full strength, or simply need to start over after things do not go as they were planned to go. Remember, all lasting success is built upon a foundation of failure,…after failure,…after failure. Success will come roaring into your life when you really and truly believe in your God, in yourself, in what you are doing, and in the people with whom you are working (your team),

When you know who you really are, where you are really going, and how you are going to get there,…you simply cannot be stopped. You may get knocked down by life, but you will always get back up and fight another round. That is how you succeed!

A story please…….

From an early age Eric lived and breathed the game of golf. The sport had actually consumed him and his life. He knew full well what he wanted to do with the use of his life. He wanted (with all of his heart) to become a professional golfer and win many major golf championship tournaments. As a teenager, he was ranked as one of the top 16 youth golfers in the entire nation. Then, at the beginning of his senior year in high school, Eric was in a tragic automobile accident. He suffered severe injuries, the most devastating of which was that his left arm had to be amputated just below the elbow. Tragedy strikes. Dream shattering events slam a person to the ground. All seems lost. What is a person to do?

Eric had never heard of a one-armed professional golfer before, but then again, he didn’t know that it could not be done? So,…Why not try it? Why not overcome the challenge and be the first PGA Champion with only one arm,…with only one hand? Eric chose to look for the possibilities rather than quit working and give up on his dream. Winners never quit! As Eric began to swing a few golf clubs at the rehabilitation center, his mother, who happened to be a psychologist, sought out someone who could design and build a prosthetic forearm and hand for him. Remember, God’s Word tells us to seek and we shall find. After several months of committed practice with his new arm and hand, Eric finally found the “sweet spot” and really hit the golf ball…“on-the-spot.” When it landed and rolled to a stop, it was more than 200 yards down the center of the fairway. Eric knew he was “back.” He rejoined his high school team, scoring even better than he had before the accident. Eric is now in college on a golf scholarship!

Eric was invited to speak at an event that was held for children who had lost limbs from their bodies. Eric lovingly and passionately told the audience,…“Don’t think of your missing limb as something that makes you a lesser person. Think of it as something that can make you stronger. I would love to be the first pro golfer with a prosthetic arm and hand….But I also know that if I don’t succeed at doing that,…I won’t be a failure. We only fail if we don’t try!”
