It’s Either One or The Other – But Not Both

If you are totally committed to achieving and maintaining lasting success within your lifetime, then you will reach a point in your life where you are going to have to face the great decision of just how much you really are a committed believer to what it is that you are attempting to accomplish. Nothing of real significance in your life will be achieved using less than total commitment. Success in any arena cannot and will not be achieved by a person who is “straddling the fences.” You see, successful endeavors are always preplanned and prepared for in advance. There will always be the right and proper way to accomplish things or there will be the wrong and incorrect way. The choice is totally up to you. The decision is definitely an “either/or” proposition.

This is precisely the reason why all real success begins with a dream in the mind of the achiever and then is followed by a decision by the achiever,…that he or she is going to do whatever it takes to accomplish their dream.

Half-hearted, partially committed, sporadic work efforts are the things which guarantee failure in all attempts and in all areas in a person’s life. Such is not the way to reaching success. I exhort you to look over your own shoulder and seriously self examine how you have been conducting your life. This examination should quickly produce the real reason(s) why you are where you are today…it ought to be rather obvious.

Once a proper and appropriate decision that you are going to succeed has been reached, then the total commitment and self-discipline of doing the required work to achieve it…is all that follows. Whenever a person makes such a definite decision to reach his dreams by accomplishing his goals, then all that remains to be done is for him to go to work and stay at work until the job is completed.

Now please understand what I am telling you. Consistent and persistent work ethics of doing the correct things that need to be accomplished is always going to take more time than a person initially thinks or believes it is going to take. Therefore, perseverance must be in place in the heart and mind of the achiever in order to keep him on task so as to enable him to complete his mission.

For these reasons, the dream has to be so big, so important, and so critical to the life of the dreamer that it will arrest his or her attention. It will keep them mentally focused on the accomplishment of that dream which in turn will provide the internal self-motivation to keep them performing the required work habits which will eventually permit them to accomplish their dream.

Compromise is a word that does not exist in the vocabulary of a truly successful person. They are so focused on accomplishing their own dreams and goals that they do not allow any distractions to derail them. Personal defeats, vicious criticisms, loss of close friendships, and/or personal tragedies that rise up in an achiever’s life are simply handled or managed all the while the dreamers are continuing on their chosen road to success,…persistently continuing to do the required work in order to turn their dream(s) into reality. I have just given you the explanation as to why so few people ever succeed. All are capable and well able to succeed. However, they simply cannot stay focused on performing the necessary work habits which will produce their desired results. Why? Because their dream is too small or not important enough to them to arrest their attention and keep them on task to achieve it.

Now the question must be asked, “who’s responsibility is it to have a big enough dream to qualify an individual as a candidate for success?” The answer is obvious. The only correct answer to such a question would be YOU,…because no other person can or will ever succeed for you. Success is just one of those things in life that a person must do for themselves.

You see dear friends,…It is only your own dream that can adequately qualify you to accomplish success. If you are attempting to reach great levels of success using only the external motivation of someone else’s dream, then it will never be enough to sustain you through the negative forces that are constantly trying to steal people’s dreams. Remember, God has given you 100% personal control over the use of your own mind. Successful people never allow other outside people to make their decisions for them. If you truly want to succeed in life, you must get some of your own “skin” in the game.

Your “skin” in the game will consist of your own blood, sweat, toil, and tears being invested into the effort needed to accomplish your goals. Your “skin” in the game will be your investment of your own time, money, and effort into the required work habits. Your investment will also be the perseverance performed by you over long time periods without losing your enthusiasm to accomplish your goals and consequently turn your own dreams into reality.

Almighty Creator God full well understood how mentally weak his finest creation, man, was and would continue to be. Maybe that is why God gave man 100% control over the use of his own brain. Whenever you come to understand that you, and you alone, are in total control of your own thoughts, choices, and decisions throughout your entire life, it becomes impossible to blame someone else for your own personal failure.

Success is your own personal responsibility. Only You will accomplish success for yourself. THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS SURROGATE SUCCESS. Therefore do not ever expect another person to create success for you.

It is your own dream, followed by your own decision that must be used to complete and fulfill your own success.

Now listen carefully. Your life here on earth is a complete and total dichotomy. That is precisely the way that God created it to be. For every good, there is an equal and offsetting opposite bad. For every positive, there is an equal and opposite negative. There is a God and therefore there is an opposite Satan. This is just the way things are. Therefore, for every success there will be an opposite failure. This is why becoming successful is truly an individual choice. It is also why there are so many failures in life.

The old saying remains true today. Your failure to make a decision to succeed becomes an automatic definite decision to fail.

Because of the balanced and ordered world in which we live, failure to choose one direction or way in life, is always countered by an automatic decision to go the opposite way. Failure to make the right choices in life is an automatic decision to make the wrong choices. Failure to make a right decision to become successful by accomplishing the good, right, and proper things in life is an automatic decision to fail and be without these good rewards and benefits. It is all up to you! You are in total control of your own mind and it’s decisions.

So let us be honest with one another. You can’t have it both ways. Life and it’s rewards are either yours for the taking or they will go to someone else who wants them and is willing to work hard for them. It is either one way or the other, but it cannot be both.

Always remember that there is no right way to do the wrong thing. Period!
