The Real Truth Usually Hurts…But It Still Is The Real Truth

We are not given a good life or a bad life. We are given a life.
It is up to us to make it good or bad!

This past year has been a particularly tough time in my life. My health has been extremely poor and I have experienced more “bumps-in-the-road” in the living of my life than I have ever before negotiated. There have been lots of battles, losses, heartaches, and suffering that I would have really preferred not to experience. That seems to be the case whenever you are creatively productive and refuse to be stopped just because someone else disagrees with you.

Now don’t get me wrong,…I am not complaining to you, but rather just reflecting and evaluating the events and circumstances in my life over this past year. Please remember that from the very outset, two and one half years ago, I boldly told you there would be no restrictions or limitations as to the subject matter of this blog. There have been great victories, and real wins. There have been great blessings and wonderful rewards. There will always be good times and bad, wins and losses, and ups and downs. They all just seem to go with the living of life. Keeping the Holy Scriptures in mind and in particular, Romans 8:28, there will always remain the strong influence of hope for the better in the future. It is extremely important to always remember that during the course of living your life, everything always works together for good to those who love God and are called according to His purpose. This statement of truth remains unchanged even when not-so-good things happen to you.

I herewith unashamedly present to you my hard earned personal credentials for your review: I am a patriotic free American citizen. I am a University of Idaho college graduate. I am a U.S. Army Officer (1960s–70s) military veteran. I have been both and employee and a successful business owner entrepreneur. I am a “sinner saved by grace” and a blood bought born-again believer in the Lord Jesus Christ.

I have, for seven decades, paid “my fair share” of the dues of life and of taxes. Now please do not misunderstand what I am saying to you. I am not looking for any kind or manner of sympathy. I am not looking for anyone to feel sorry for me and my plight. I am just so terribly disturbed at the state of affairs that my (and our) country has been driven into, that I can no longer just quietly sit back and watch.

My earthly father was a very successful businessman but more importantly was a World War II U. S. Navy Chief. My father-in-law, enlisted in the U.S. Navy and fought in World War II in the far Western Pacific Campaign,…in particular against the Japanese on the Island of Okinawa. The carnage was horrific and many Americans willingly sacrificed their precious lives as payment in full (in their own blood) so that you and I could be and could live free within the confines of our own country’s borders.

We all owe a great debt of gratitude to our forefathers and our founding fathers without whom we would not be here as we are today.

As I have convalesced at home over that last year, I have had extra time to read, write, talk, listen to, think, and watch the world and national events that have engulfed our precious nation, the United States of America. And quite frankly I am sickened, saddened, and fed up with the ignorance, stupidity, unpatriotic, indefensible decisions, actions, and legalities that have plagued us all under the current congressional leadership and presidential administration of our beloved America. A mighty price was paid both in resources and human blood for the freedoms we now enjoy and the rights and responsibilities we have been given under the Constitution of the United States of America. Such great blessings should never be taken lightly or for granted. Certainly under no circumstances should those gifts be undermined, usurped, ignored, or swept under the carpet, overlooked, or amended in any manner except as is properly allowed within the pages of this “Life-Blood” legal document,…the Constitution itself and its guidelines. Nobody,…no man or no woman,…no matter who they happen to be, where they happen to live, what their name happens to be, or what their personal religious or political affiliation is or is not has an exclusive right to change the laws of our land except as is properly provided for within the confines of our U.S. Constitution. Only our duly elected or appointed men and women have been given charge,… through the ballot box and through presidential appointment,…to legally conduct our nation’s affairs and its business, and to administer and enforce those established laws, rules, regulations, and legal efforts that they have put into place in accordance with the governing laws of our land.

I asked my 95 year old father-in-law if this present day state of affairs in America and around the world was what he was willing to risk his life for in the 1940s on Okinawa. With a sad and sorrowful demeanor he dropped his head and moved it horizontally side to side indicating a negative response.

I personally have many former friends,…close personal friends, whose “remains” still lie somewhere in the jungles of Viet Nam. I have traveled the world and have always made it a point to visit the military cemeteries in the vicinity of my travels and pay my respects and give my thanks to those souls and the price they willingly paid,…whose bones are buried there.

When I watch the manner and way that the United States under the phony leadership of the current elected representatives…congressmen, senators, supreme court justices, and president…and the way in which they are attempting to run our country into ruin,…it nauseates me! Something has got to change and change quickly if we are to keep our free country and keep our country free. It will not happen unless and until all of our patriotic God-fearing citizens stand up for righteousness (not political party affiliation or correctness) and all of what is right,…and thereby remove the incompetents who are foolishly and often times illegally leading our nation down a path of guaranteed destruction.

Enemies, once completely established as life and safety threatening foes, are to be destroyed, not coddled. Enemies are to be given ample opportunity to change their ways, and if they refuse to change, then they should be eliminated! Too tough a position you ask? Not so say I! War is a part of human kind’s existence, and has been every since the beginning of time. Man has amply proven since he was created that he is incapable of getting along with his fellow men. The world’s first murderer…family member murderer…come out of the Garden of Eden!

The youth of our nation today know little or nothing about the real and true history and making of this, the greatest and freest nation in the entire world. The freedoms we enjoy are made available to all of us today only because someone somewhere was willing to shed their own blood on a battlefield. The education system of America has been dismantled and abused to where most of the youth of our nation has no idea how we became a nation or when we became a nation, or even more sadly where we became a nation.

History emphatically tells us that Americans do not learn anything from history. We just keep on making the same miserable mistakes generation after generation. That has got to stop! Only when one is properly and accurately educated is he or she properly prepared, positioned, and equipped to carry on the right things and right ways of living as God intended people to live. God Almighty is completely sovereign and always will be. He governs the affairs of mankind and always will govern them. If you live the way God intends for you to live and obey His rules through your personal conduct, then you will be blessed. That is God’s Promise to all mankind. I believe it. I subscribe to it. And I anticipate the promised blessings to come to me for so doing.

I received this very morning, September 30, 2015, an e-mail from a dear personal friend of 54 years that not only tells it like it is, but also, informs and encourages us all to self examine and self evaluate. Who are we really? What are we doing or failing to do? How can we all become better Americans and do the right and righteous things with the use of our lives? What are we passing on to the the next generation and beyond? There are three major questions a person should answer for themselves before heading forward with their life. Who am I?…Where am I going?…How am I going to get there?

Wake Up America!

An Awakening

The typical U.S. household headed by a person age 65 or older has a net worth 47 times greater than a household headed by someone under 35, according to an analysis of census data released Monday.

They like to refer to us as senior citizens, old fogies, geezers, and in some cases dinosaurs. Some of us are “Baby Boomers” getting ready to retire. Others have been retired for some time. We walk a little slower these days and our eyes and hearing are not what they once were. We have worked hard, raised our children, worshiped our God and grown old together.

Yes, we are the ones some refer to as being over the hill, and that is probably true. But before writing us off completely, there are a few things that need to be taken into consideration.

In school we studied English, history, math, and science which enabled us to lead America into the technological age. Most of us remember what outhouses were, many of us with firsthand experience. We remember the days of telephone party-lines, 25 cent gasoline, and milk and ice being delivered to our homes. For those of you who don’t know what an icebox is, today they are electric and referred to as refrigerators. A few even remember when cars were started with a crank. Yes, we lived those days.

We are probably considered old fashioned and out-dated by many. But there are a few things you need to remember before completely writing us off. We won World War II, fought in Korea and Viet Nam. We can quote The Pledge of Allegiance, and know where to place our hand while doing so. We wore the uniform of our country with pride and lost many friends on the battlefield. We didn’t fight for the Socialist States of America; we fought for the “Land of the Free and the Home of the Brave.” We wore different uniforms but carried the same flag. We know the words to the “Star Spangled Banner” and “America the Beautiful” by heart, and you may even see some tears running down our cheeks as we sing. We have lived what many of you have only read in history books and we feel no obligation to apologize to anyone for America.

Yes, we are old and slow these days but rest assured, we have at least one good fight left in us. We have loved this country, fought for it, and died for it, and now we are going to save it. It is our country and nobody is going to take it away from us. We took oaths to defend America against all enemies, foreign and domestic, and that is an oath we plan to keep. There are those who want to destroy this land we love but, like our founders, there is no way we are going to remain silent.

It was mostly the young people of this nation who elected Obama and the Democratic Congress. You fell for the “Hope and Change” which in reality was nothing but “Hype and Lies.”

You youngsters have tasted socialism and seen evil face to face, and have found you don’t like it after all. You make a lot of noise, but most are all too interested in their careers or “Climbing the Social Ladder” to be involved in such mundane things as patriotism and voting. Many of those who fell for the “Great Lie” in 2008 are now having buyer’s remorse. With all the education we gave you, you didn’t have sense enough to see through the lies and instead drank the “Kool-Aid.”  Now you’re paying the price and complaining about it.  No jobs, lost mortgages, higher taxes, and less freedom.  This is what you voted for and this is what you got. We entrusted you with the Torch of Liberty and you traded it for a paycheck and a fancy house.

Well, don’t worry youngsters, the Grey-Haired Brigade is here, and in 2016 we are going to take back our nation. We may drive a little slower than you would like but we get where we’re going, and in 2016 we’re going to the polls by the millions.  This land does not belong to the man in the White House nor to the likes of Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, and Eric Holder.  It belongs to “We the People” and “We the People” plan to reclaim our land and our freedom. We hope this time you will do a better job of preserving it and passing it along to our grandchildren.  So the next time you have the chance to say the Pledge of Allegiance, Stand up, take your hat or cap off your head, put your hand over your heart, honor our country, and thank God for the old geezers of the “Gray-Haired Brigade.”

Footnote:  This is spot on.  I am another Gray-Haired Geezer signing on.  I will circulate this to other Gray-Haired Geezers all over this once great county.

Can you feel the ground shaking???
