Has Anyone Seen George?

Doesn’t it always seem like whenever there is a job to do or a project to start or oversee or an errand to run or a meeting to chair,…that assistants and other well qualified people all of the sudden simply disappear.  It is as if they were ghost-like and can become invisible or sneak out right through walls and closed doors.  Of course, not everyone is like that, but I would have to say that based upon my personal experience, the vast majority are.

I don’t know what actually causes most folks to be lazy and unwilling to assist other people in getting a needed job completed or an assignment finished, but I do know that when help is required, most folks are slow to volunteer to lend a hand of assistance.  The truth of the matter is that helping others is a kind, thoughtful, and most wonderful thing to do.  Assisting another person finish a job always makes you feel and think better about yourself as well as the one(s) you helped.  I personally believe that God really designed all of us to be eager and voluntary helpers to and with our fellow man.  Throughout the Bible there are commands, stories, parables, and the like about one person helping another.  There are discussions and tales about one person assisting a group of other people, and even about a person helping and assisting an entire nation of other people.  It isn’t the numbers of other people that you help or assist that makes the real difference, but rather it is the actual act or effort that you put forth to help others, regardless of their numbers, that counts most to God.  His promise to us is that if we give, we then shall receive!  That is a universal Truth of Life.

Now back to looking for George…..

I know it to be true that one of the single biggest wastes of valuable time in a person’s life is that time you spend looking for misplaced or lost items.  If one would simply put things back (after using them) where you have a designated storage place for them instead of just leaving them lie where you last used them,….then you would save yourself all kinds of time and heartache that you now waste looking for them all over your living area whenever the need for them re-arises.  Such a standard policy as applies to your life would require lots of forethought and purposely defined disciplined effort….Ahhh Ha…..therein lies the difficulty…purposely disciplined effort.

While it may take a little extra time for you to put them back into their designated storage location after using them, I guarantee it will not be near as much lost time as you will eventually wind up spending looking for them whenever you need them again!  An extra 5 minutes spent putting things into a proper designated storage location after each use, is always much better that wasting 60 minutes trying to find a misplaced or lost item.

So may I exhort you to take some extra time to put used items or things back where they belong after each use…It will save you lots of wasted time later…and as a side benefit, you won’t have to inquire about or waste any further time looking for that infamous and mysteriously disappearing fellow named George!…..or your spouse named, “Honey.”

You see, George is in very high demand….He is being looked for by thousands of people each and every day.  He, like all of us, can only be in one location at a  time.  Even if we allocated everyone on earth only one free call for George each day or even each week….there would still be way too much demand for George than he could ever supply to the callers.  George simply can’t be everywhere everyday.  No one mortal man can do that……

The only solution to this daily dilemma….as I see it….is for each of us humans to become more personally responsible and accountable to ourselves, our families, and our own business operations.  Instead of requesting or depending on someone else to do necessary things for us, we need to pick up the personal responsibility to start helping ourselves first…before calling on others to assist us.  My experience is that most folks who are screaming for other people’s help are more than capable of helping themselves and completing the job on their own….IF….they would but try to do it alone first before demanding some one else to help them.

God has given you more than enough CAPABILITY and TALENT to do whatever He has given you to do as His Will for your life.  You possess all that you need to accomplish what He wants you to do.  Just get started as best you can right from where you now stand.  Begin using what you have already been given and start doing the best as you are able to do with it.  Beginning a given job or assignment is in reality,….the same as being half-done with the assignment.  I personally know of no job that was ever completed that wasn’t first started,…that wasn’t first begun.

The first effort a person needs to put into a project is Thought.

Author and multi-millionaire businessman Napoleon Hill wrote a book about success near the turn of the 20th century in America entitled “Think and Grow Rich.”  When readers began to question what was the real secret encoded within the pages, the author simply replied…..“The secret to success is in the title to the book….THINK!”

Before beginning a job, a project, or a new effort, think things through.  Count the cost.  (1)  Know what it is that you want to accomplish…be specific.  Then you must (2) decide what it is that you are willing to give up in order to get what it is that you say you want.  Decide if you are willing to pay the price in order to complete the mission and accomplish your desires by some predetermined fixed date in the future.  The next thing to do is (3) begin to associate with other successful proven people who can and are willing to help you get what it is that you say that you want, and lastly, (4) you need to have or develop a viable Plan to effectively achieve your desired results.  You then plan your work and then work your plan.  And then,…you continue to consistently work your plan every week until you achieve your aimed—for results…….no resting, no pausing,…no sabbaticals,….no vacations,…until you complete your mission!  That’s It,….

Period!

Now please hear me well,……Whenever you are so busy working your own plan for success, whenever you are so personally involved in working your own business and doing the things required to be achieved so that you will guarantee your own success,….you will not have any time left in your busy life to stop working long enough to look for, let alone to call for,…good old George to come help you do anything!

Give George a break.  Give him some well deserved time off.  You do what needs to be done by yourself.  You will be amazed to discover just how well you can do the very job that you previously have always been asking George to help you complete.  Good old George has thoroughly been worked almost to death.  He has earned and well deserves some long time off to rest and recover.  You see, dear ones, there is a bit of truth I will share with you as we close this session….Here it is…..

The one who actually builds the business and helps others build their businesses is the person who in fact will be the actual leader of the business…..whether they own it or not!

The last place you ever want to wind up in your life is to own your own business,….BUT….someone else is actually leading and operating it.

True, lasting, and effective leadership of other people is always
performed at and from the front of the organization.

There simply is no such thing as absentee leadership in life.

The secret of all sUccess lies in the second letter of the word…U.

Peace And Love To All Of You……………..Poppa Bear
