Business Building Tools and Their Use

Facebook Twitter

I personally was never very handy or good with any kind of work tools like a hammer or nails or saws or wrenches, nuts, washers or bolts.  How about you?  Power tools give me even more trouble.  Blueprints and deciphering them has never been a long suit to my work ethic.

I guess I am not very “mechanically-minded.”

My little mind just cannot get wrapped around a “to-scale” two dimensional paper drawing and how that translates into a “to-scale” three dimensional finished product.

The only college level class that I ever flunked was a drafting class when I was a freshman in the college of engineering.  I was devastated, but it was what it was…..I just couldn’t take that engineer’s blueprint and turn it into a three dimensional finished cube, or prism, or rectangular trapezoid….or other crazy things and shapes like that.

Everybody’s mind works a little differently doesn’t it?

Let us make no mistake about it.  Tools, be they manual or power driven, are extremely vital and important in order to perform and complete the physical work needed to finish in any type of work project.

Tools make the work easier, they allow the work to be completed at a faster more efficient pace, and they permit the worker to do more work in a shorter period of time.

Manual tools and their proper use are a very good thing.

Power tools and their proper use are a much better thing.

Anytime someone tries to do the required work of any type project without the proper tools, things just don’t and won’t go together as they should.  The result is lost time, money, and resources.  This is not a good situation.  No one will benefit much, if any, from this type of produced results.  Sufficient and correct available tools are an absolute necessity.

So if you want good and valuable results in the form of a satisfactory completed work project, you must have:  (1) A good plan, (2) proper and adequate tools, (3) properly qualified and adequate supervision of the labor force, (4) sufficient raw materials and (5) resolute determination to complete the entire project.

All five of the prerequisites must be in place and ready to be used as necessary if the project is to be completed as desired.

Here is how the whole thing actually works:

1.  Preplanning and perseverance are prerequisites to starting the project.

2.  Stick-to-it-tiveness is needed to complete the project.

3.  Continuity of sustained work ethic is the glue that holds it all together.

The tools just make the work go quicker and more efficiently.

So let us look at the modern day manual and power tools that are to be used as you build and grow your own business.

First are the manual tools, they deal with education and understanding:

A.  Reading good books, magazines, journals, and other published materials that pertain directly to the building and growing procedures applicable to your own particular business.

B.  Studying the successful people and examples provided by those previous leaders who have gone before you and done that which you are trying to do.

C.  Listening to produced CD’s and watching DVD’s made by successful people who have accomplished what it is that you are attempting to do.

Second are the power tools, they deal with speedy and efficient work.  They are magnifiers of your work efforts:

D.  Professional seminars, conferences, and training functions and formal gatherings.

E.  Motivational functions and inspirational gatherings of successful people operating in the same or similar fields of endeavor.

F.  Communications with other groups, organizations or individuals via telephone, computer operations and other IT networks and websites.

G.  Associating with other successful people who will mentor and teach you to better perform the required tasks of completing that which you are accomplishing with your resources.

Always remember that you must first learn what and how to do a task correctly that will produce a preplanned desired result.  Once you know what to do and how to do it, then you will need to bring together a team of people that will labor together to achieve the final result.

Know what you are going to do and do it.  Keep doing it until the job is fully completed!

No breaks, no vacations, and no sabbaticals until the job is finished.

Put together the finished project,…complete the mission,…. and then celebrate of successful victory.  Do those three things in the order given and every body wins!

Peace and love to all of you…..Poppa Bear
