Always Scan The Horizon

Colossians 3 : 1–4 ESV

Put On The New Self

(1) “If then you have been raised with Christ, seek the things
that are above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of
God.

(2) Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that
are on earth.

(3) For you have died, and your life is hidden with Christ in
God.

(4) When Christ who is your life appears, then you also will
appear with Him in glory.”

If you will ever stop, slow down the pace of your life, and carefully observe those other people who are rushing around you in their uncontrolled haste to go nowhere at “mach” speed, you will take particular notice of what I am talking about within the content of this discussion. Most people who are racing through their everyday life are always just following that particular person who is in front of them. They are not following their own planned route of travel under their own volition. They are just blindly going nowhere in particular, turning when their leader turns and stopping when the person in front of them stops. Playing “Follow the Leader” is a child’s game. If you desire to grow your personal level of faith to a higher level, then you must become the leader, rather than just following another person who doesn’t know where they are going or why they are making the trip.

It is interesting to note that even when one knows where and why they are going to a particular chosen destination, they still need to have developed some checkpoints along the way to insure they stay on course and keep headed in the right direction. Often times these checkpoints are best described as set goals.

All great levels of faith are grown into over a long period of time, rather than to just be stumbled upon.

We define “Horizon” as the place where heaven meets earth. But it is also where today’s state-of-the-art ends and tomorrow’s new developments move in and begin.

Faith refuses to surrender control to negative doubts of yesterday.
Doubt adds up all of the bungled debts, fruitless research, foiled efforts, and shattered dreams.

Doubt finds its life by digging in the cemeteries of buried hopes.

Faith finds its life by scanning the horizon, full well knowing that there will be a sunrise tomorrow. The events of life will slow down and straighten out and in the end always get better than they are today

Regardless of what has or has not yet positively happened for you, just as certain as the sun sets this afternoon, a new day will begin tomorrow morning at sunrise. Along with it will come another chance, opportunity, circumstance, or experience that will be headed your way and with which you can continue to build your personal faith to a higher level.

Today is the beginning of a new age. What great and beneficial medical break-throughs will be made before the sun sets today? What technological achievements or advancements will be possible by the end of this year, or this decade? What new and never-before-known information or understanding will be jelled into the minds of researchers in laboratories all around the world today?

Faith is belief in the future,…in the things yet unseen.

Faith is scanning the horizon for new ships that will sail into view, carrying treasured cargo of new discoveries.

Faith expects and predicts headlines of new cures and break-throughs that will be announced in the coming year.

“…Faith cometh by hearing,…hearing by the Word of God…”
Romans 10 : 17

Whenever you read the Word of God, read it out-loud. Doing so will activate the most active organ of the human body, the inner ear. This is indeed the key in developing your faith. The inner ear is the gateway to the human soul. That which you read out loud gets permanently seated into the confines of your own mind.

Join with me in reciting this verbal positive Prayer (Affirmation):

“Today I will cultivate a mental attitude that expects progress. I will steadfastly scan the horizons and search for great new blessings and benefits to start flowing into my life and to all others whom You choose to bless.

Through positive prayer, I look forward, expectantly and excitedly!

Thank You, Father, for what You are planning to do in my future. In Jesus’s Name. Amen.”
