When Things Don’t Go Your Way

1 Peter 5 : 5–11 NKJV:

Submit to God, Resist the Devil

(5) “Likewise you younger people, submit yourselves to your
elders. Yes, all of you be submissive to one another, and
be clothed with humility, for

‘God resists the proud
But gives grace to the humble’

(6) Therefore, humble yourselves, under the mighty hand of
God that He may exalt you in due time,

(7) casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.

(8) Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil
walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may
devour.

(9) Resist him, steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same
sufferings are experienced by your brotherhood in the
world.

(10) But may the God of all grace, who called us to His eternal
glory by Christ Jesus, after you have suffered a while,
perfect, establish, strengthen, and settle you.

(11) To Him be the glory and the dominion forever and ever.
Amen.

John 14 : 1–6 NKJV:

(1) “Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe
also in Me.

(2) In My Fathers’ house are many mansions; if it were not so, I
would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.

(3) And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and
receive you to Myself; that where I am there you may be
also.

(4) And where I go you know, and the way you know.”

(5) “Thomas said to Him, ‘Lord we do not know where You are
going, and how we can know the way?’

(6) Jesus said to him “I am the way, the truth, and the life.
No one comes to the Father except through Me.”

“When Things Don’t Go as you would like, accept the situation immediately. If you indulge in feelings of regret, they can easily spill over the line into resentment. Remember that I am sovereign over your circumstances, and humble yourself under My mighty hand. Rejoice in what I am doing in your life, even though it is beyond your understanding.

I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life. In Me you have everything you need, both for this life and for the life yet to come. Don’t let the impact of the world shatter your thinking or draw you away from focusing on Me. The ultimate challenge is to keep fixing your eyes on Me, no matter what is going on around you. When I am central in your thinking, you are able to view circumstances from My perspective.”

“Jesus Calling”

No one likes adversity. People do not like ugly things happening to them. It is hardly an easy thing to be glad and rejoice when things, events, and people are turned against you and are attempting to inflict hurt or harm to you or your loved ones. But none of that really matters to God. As told us in the above Scripture references, God is totally sovereign and in complete control of everything that is occurring to you and in all of the events and circumstances surrounding you.

Our God tells us in His word that He will never leave us or forsake us. He promises us that since he left this world (this earthly fleshly world in which we live today here on earth) He did so to prepare in advance a great place for us once we (our Spirit) leave this earth at the time of our physical death. God wants us to be with Him throughout all eternity and He wants us to have the desires of our hearts at the same time. Of course, that can only happen if we are, in fact, Born Again Believers in the Lord Jesus Christ.

Now it is so easy to say these things and admit that you are a Believer in Jesus. But it is altogether a completely different story for you to actually live out your confessed faith and belief through the actions you take in times of adversity, trial, and tribulation.

Placing blame on others, finding fault with what other people do to you, condemning other people for what God has allowed to happen to you, and basic complaining (grumbling) for the sad state of affairs in which you have suddenly found yourself is not the manner and way that God desires for you to react.

He specifically tells us in His Word, in the Book of James, Chapter 1, verses 2–4 NKJV:

(2) “My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials,

(3) knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience.

(4) But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be
perfect and complete lacking nothing.”

If you are under any type of attack regardless of the source, know in your own heart that God is on your side. You are never totally alone. Jesus is always with you and will help you persevere through all of the adversity that is coming against you. Your part is to simply Trust and Obey your Lord and Savior. Realize that nothing happens to you by accident. God tells us that His ways are different and higher than are our own ways. You often times will not understand in any way, shape, or form why things are happening to you or against you. That is all right. You don’t have to understand them. Trials and suffering happening in your life today may be unpleasant or undesired, but God may very well be allowing it to happen to you so as to strengthen you in your physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual existence. God may very well be preparing something far greater for you than you can see or imagine. Adversity builds your endurance, your physical and mental strength, and it builds your understanding and level of patience so as to teach you how to handle even greater blessings and trust that He desires you to have.

Don’t fight your spiritual battles on a physical earthly plane. Spiritual battles are to be fought on a prayerful spiritual plane.

You don’t have to always see things getting done. Believing and trusting in the Laws of God and in His Word and its promises are all you need to eventually succeed. All that is required of you is that you are obedient to the Instructions of the Lord, and that you are always to do the right and proper thing.

God allows things to happen to you to prepare you to handle and accomplish much higher and greater things with the use of your life. Pain is and will become a friend to you if only you will trust and obey the Lord and then do what he instructs you to do.

God’s Greatest Blessings to All of You……………….
