There are Two Kinds of Leaders

Facebook Twitter

Most people do not realize the plain truth that there are really two separate and distinct types of men and women who are bona fide leaders of other people.  There are (1) the ones who seem to be born with innate abilities to lead others in their own right, and then there are (2) the ones who developed their leadership abilities over a relatively long period of time from experience and training.  Both of these types of leaders are just what we are calling them.  They are real and true leaders of other men and women.  I would have to say that the greater majority of leaders are on the “developed” side of the tally sheet.  History records only a few real leaders were actually “born” with the inherent talents and abilities to lead other people.  Leadership ability is a learned skill.

As we have already established the truth that “Everything rises and falls on Leadership” then finding a qualified leader or a developing leader appears to be essential for a person who is desiring to become successful in any chosen field of operations.  An unquestioned truth widely known is that any individual can and will accomplish far more with the assistance of other people than he ever will be able to achieve all by himself.

These two absolute truths should point you in the focused direction towards creating a team of players to assist you in the completion of any  required efforts needed to complete your chosen mission.  People working together in unison and with total agreement as to the time and method required to complete the work will always achieve maximum results.  However as in all cases, because it is the way God designed things to work, every good and productive team of workers, must have a good and effective leader as a head of operations, if they are to work at their peak performance.  There has to be a good leader to guide and direct the team of followers if the work is to be accurately completed in a timely manner.

Now this information is really not new.  Most everyone has heard it discussed and explained many times before.  What is really shocking is how many people repeatedly attempt to succeed in a chosen operation or project or business and haul right off and try to accomplish all the requirements all by themselves.  That is what is “nuts.”  They know they need to put together a team.  They know they need assistant leaders or sub-leaders to help them control and direct the whole team’s efforts. They know better than to try do it all on their own…..and yet that is exactly what they wind up doing….doing it all by themselves.  And guess what?…Just as was predicted…they fail to accomplish and complete their mission….Surprise!

Hey!  If you want and desire right results, you first have to put forth right effort.  That is just the way things are supposed to work!  There are no short-cuts to Success.  Why don’t you stop looking for them.

If you truly desire success, then do what successful people in your chosen field do.  Learn from them what needs to be done, and then go out an do exactly as you have learned!  Stop complicating that which was originally designed to be kept simple.

Now let us assume (I realize that is an extremely dangerous thing to do) that you are a “leader.”  That you want to build a productive team of followers and you need help to do it.  Here is what you need to do…in order to complete your needed team…in order to have a competent team achieve the desired results.  LEARN and then EMPLOY your learned knowledge as you assemble your team.

You need to find and/or develop leaders who will attract to themselves other leaders.

You are now at a point where you will hopefully begin to understand that as you progress, as you learn more knowledge and then apply it, you will begin to gain some wisdom.  This learned or absorbed wisdom will open your eyes to more inspiration which in turn will assist you in accomplishing even more than you ever expected at the start of your journey to success.

The title to this discussion is “There are two kinds of leaders.”  While it is true that there are (1) born leaders and there are (2) developed leaders, that is not what I really want to teach you through this lesson.  The two kinds of leaders that I want you to know about and identify are the two kinds that you will have to work with that actually wind up being on your created team.  The two kinds of leaders I want to discuss are (1) leaders who attract followers and (2) leaders who attract other leaders.

I will tell you the truth:  People who attract and team up only with other followers will never be able to accomplish anything beyond what they can personally touch, supervise, or lead themselves!

If you desire success for your life, you need to enlist as team players Leaders who attract other leaders.

Permit me to share with you some of the personal characteristics of both groups of leaders to help you more quickly identify what type of actual leaders you presently have on your team…..as of today.

“Leaders who attract followers”:

Want recognition.
Need to be needed.
Have many insecurities in themselves.
Focus on other people’s weaknesses.
Spend most of their free time surrounded by other people.
Experience some success.

“Leaders who attract Leaders ” :

They want to reproduce themselves.
They want to be succeeded.
Are very secure in themselves.
Focus on other people’s strengths.
Invest their time and resources in others.
Create and experience huge success.

Do you see now why, if you desire Great Success, you must build a team of followers and also one that has lots of other good and qualified leaders on it.

One final point of interest needs to be brought to your attention.  Over the long run of events, you will discover that you can only lead people whose leadership ability is less than or equal to your own.

So to keep your leadership position, role, and influence where you want it to remain, you must keep attracting and developing better and more effective  leaders into your organization.  The only way you can do that very thing is to continually keep developing and growing your own leadership ability.

If you want your own organization to keep growing and becoming more and better than it was last year, you have to keep growing and developing the leader of that self same organization.  Here is a truth of all leadership:  As goes the personal growth of the leader, so goes the overall growth of the organization…..No Exceptions!

Make certain you are investing sufficient time every week into yourself to promote an increase in your own knowledge, wisdom and spiritual growth.  When you are forever growing personally….. your group, your team, or your business will do the same.

It is for these exact reasons this website was developed and made available to those leaders and those developing leaders who desire to continue to grow personally.

Peace and love to all of you……….Poppa Bear
