By this point most all of you readers and listeners to this website, www.davesevern.com, have come to understand that I am a Born-Again, Blood Bought, Christian Believer in the Lord Jesus Christ. As such, God’s Word and its instructions have always been (since the date of my salvation) and will always be the “trail of truth” upon which I travel as I live my life here on earth. Much of my writings have and will continue to be based and built upon the “truths of life” held within the pages of the Holy Scripture. God’s truths are never fogged-in or cloudy. His truths as are always boldly stated and His instructions are never gray, they are always crystal clear,…to the point,…and black or white.
So when it comes to the subject of manhood there can be no better place to look for an accurate definition than in the Holy Bible. It is the wise man indeed who spends significant and regular minutes and hours each day searching the Scripture for the answers to his own dilemmas. Within the pages of Holy Scripture there will always be a correct answer to any question that may arise during the course of living your own life. There will always be a clearly identified path leading the reader back to a closer personal relationship with God. You are just going to have to dig it out on your own time and effort. God is not able to clearly speak to you unless and until you have developed a personal relationship with Him. If finding the correct answer to the questions and solutions to the situations surrounding your life and its divine purpose is important to and for you, then you will make the time available to search for the answers you are seeking.
According to the Word of God, real, true, and mature manhood occurs when a male becomes more and more like Jesus Christ through his own growth and development. True Manhood is Christlikeness. God clearly gives us a succinct and powerful profile as to what are the real characteristics that define true manhood. It is all recorded in the Book of 1 Corinthians, Chapter 16, verses 13–14 NLT:
(13) “Be on guard. Stand firm in the faith. Be courageous. Be
strong.
(14) And do everything with love.”
Real men are always in a continuous internal (mental/spiritual) growth phase as they live out their lives. They never go into “cruise” mode. They never rest on the past performance. They are always reaching higher and higher to accomplish more and more position and benefit for the love of their fellow man, the betterment of their families, and the furtherance of their own country,…all for the glory of their God.
Now this is a very rare personal quality used and maintained by a male in today’s society. In the earlier days of America, The Bible was the primary book of human instruction. Devout clergymen comprised the majority of the school teachers. Consequently God’s Laws were the basis of the instruction. All of the teaching material was presented and taught to the students from a biblical world view. God’s Golden Rule…“Do unto others as ye would have them do unto you”…was the platform upon which children were taught and instructed as to how to live their lives. Truth, honesty, and integrity were the mainstays of a good education.
Such is not the case today. Sweeping changes for the worse have been allowed to happen and occur within the confines of our own government, political system, legal system, financial system, as well as our education system. Liberal, progressive thought and manner of living have all but destroyed our youth and the succeeding generations since the beginning of the 20th century. These evil forces have choked the Christian life and its belief system out of the bodies and minds of the past four generations of Americans. Small wonder a real man is such a difficult thing to find.
Honesty and Integrity anchor all good, proper, and effective human behavior. A biblical world view is the rock-solid foundation upon which to build and live your American life. Truth and sincerity govern and control how a person should correctly think, speak, and act. Progressive liberalism seeks to destroy and eliminate these basic tenets of being a good man or woman, a good servant leader to others, and a good Christian/Judeo well-founded child of God.
It is indeed a beautiful thing to observe (whenever you are permitted the opportunity) a Real Man-in-the-making. Their most notable qualities are that they want to (1) learn, (2) rebuild bridges that were broken down, and (3) overall make changes in their life and their approach to leadership,…all of which produce a great and positive influence on the people with whom they live and associate.
Real men are wonderful,…but…they are very rare to find. Treasure them, enjoy them, learn and grow with them as such men and women are definitely on their way to a much higher and grander level of living than are the majority of the masses of Americans. Real men sincerely desire to reflect the humility modeled by Jesus Christ in every aspect of their personal lives. Living in such a manner will always produce a great and glorious impact on all of the other people who surround you and who will reach beyond the boundaries so often imposed on a person by society or government. God’s Truth and manner of living will always elevate the impact and power of positive change in the behavior of human beings.
Whenever a person is honest and filled with godly integrity,… all those folks surrounding him or her will take notice. Such a person definitely stands out from the ordinary masses of our own society.
Real men:
1. Study and learn God’s Truths.
2. Live out their own lives under the protective covering of God’s Holy Word.
3. Live their lives in accordance with the teachings and example of Jesus Christ.
In so doing they make themselves vulnerable in all of their personal matters and efforts. Their struggles in life are always on display as well as their steps to victory. A positive example is always a fine thing to watch. A real man’s straightforward exhortations are always made authentic and convicting as exhibited in his manner of living.
Our illustrious past, our tumultuous present, and our victorious future have all been carried on the shoulders of the godly real men and real women throughout our history in this nation called America.
Success has a price tag. How you develop yourself and then use what you have developed will be your personal contribution as to how this nation and its citizens move forward (onward and upward) in the years ahead. Leadership is influence. Your life example is always on display. It is what will attract other people to you and thereby allow you to positively influence them.
Be a Real Man And Always Act Like One………..
