Encouragement Always Makes Us Better

Each and every person is uniquely different from all other of his species. Much like snowflakes, no two people are exactly the same. We individually have each been created by God to have our own individual characteristics, personalities, and demeanor. All of we humans live our lives differently. It is our unique diversities that give us the most significant strength within the realm and boundaries of our social world.

People, all people, will most usually rise to the level of expectation of those other people around them whom they both admire and respect. It is therefore incumbent upon any given individual, who desires to move up to a higher level of living, to insure that he regularly associates with other people who are not only wiser and more experienced than himself, but also who are willing to share with him their knowledge and personal experience so that their “student” is thereby equipped to help himself rise higher.

It is extremely important for anyone who desires to become successful to quickly realize that it is their own personal responsibility to take charge of their own life and begin to do the very things needed to assist themselves in raising their own levels in life. There is no such thing as surrogate success……no one can or will succeed for you.

Becoming and creating your own success in life is a personal process. It is, in fact, a journey through your entire life. Success is not a destination. All along the path to your own success there will be lots of failures, adjustments, corrections, periods of struggle, and spurts of growth. As is always the case, the key to accomplishing your desired purpose is to consistently and persistently stay at work,…stay on task…until all of the required work is completed and you accomplish your planned success. Patience will be critically important. Success is a long-term event. It is only going to take you the rest of your life to accomplish it.

God gives us great insight into the achievement of our personal success in His Holy Word, The Bible. As is recorded in the Book of Philippians, Chapter 1, verse 6 NKJV:

“being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ;”

God is no respecter of persons. What He will do for one, He will do for all! Here is His promise to you and me. He wants us to be happy, joy-filled, prosperous, healthy, and wise. He has given to us individually the precious gift of life. He has properly equipped each of us for His purpose for our life. You have all that you need to develop and use to accomplish His Will for you. Now it is all up to you. You have been given God’s “Ball.” Now it is up to you to run with it and score. What you do with God’s gift to you will, in fact, be your gift back to God.

American newspaperman and former U. S. Congressman George M. Adams had it exactly right when he said, “There are high spots in all of our lives and most of them have come about through encouragement from someone else.”

There is great life-generating and regenerating power in the spoken or written words of encouragement to the hearts and minds of other men and women. The power of the spoken word into the life of another person is magnificent and explosive. Spoken words of affirmation, encouragement, and praise coupled with great edification can and will move other people to much higher grades and sustained higher levels of performance than will most any other thing on earth.

Everyone needs and relishes good words of encouragement.

Johann Wolfgang von Goethe, the great German writer and statesman knew well the power of spoken words of encouragement when he had this to say:

“Treat a man as he appears to be and you make him worse.
But treat a man as if he already were what he potentially could
be, and you make him what he should be.”

The key to the whole of success is that any person desiring to become successful must first be willing to extend himself,…to study and properly prepare himself for the job that lies ahead for him. Preparation is critical. Once a candidate for success is prepared, and begins his personal journey up his chosen road to success, then all that remains for him is to persevere, complete the required work, and accomplish his mission! The fuel for his internal engine needed to keep him on the road to success and moving forward is his own BELIEF IN HIMSELF. Remember God’s personal words of instruction to His followers are simple and straight forward:

“ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE TO HIM WHO BELIEVES.”

The truth is that the human mind believes anything and everything that you allow into it. It is not capable of deciphering whether input is true or false, it just believes and ingests all that you the individual owner of your mind allows to go into it.

I once read about a great scientific study that was run in the State of California’s Public School System that proves the points I am attempting to relate to you. Allow me to summarize the results of this study:

An experiment was performed in a schools in the San Francisco Bay area. A principal called in three teachers to his office and told them:
“Because you three teachers are the finest in the system and you have the very greatest expertise, we are going to give you ninety carefully and thoroughly selected high-IQ students. We are going to allow you move these selected students through this next school year at their own pace as you determine it to be and see just how much they can really learn.”

The three faculty members, the students, and the student’s parents thought this was a great idea. And it seemed all of them especially enjoyed the entire school year. By the time school was through, the students had achieved from 20 to 30 percent more than the other students in the entire San Francisco Bay area!

At the end of the year, the principal called the three teachers into his office and told them, “I have a confession to make. You did not have ninety of the most intellectually prominent students . They were all just plain old run-of-the-mill students. We took ninety students at random from the system and gave them to you.”

The teachers naturally concluded that their exceptional teaching skills must have been responsible for the students’ great progress.

“I have another confession to make,” reported the principal. “You’re not the brightest of the teachers. Your names were the first three drawn out of a hat.”

Why, then, did those students and teachers perform at such an exceptionally high level for an entire year? They were encouraged to believe they could!

The great leaders throughout all human history trained and prepared their followers to lead themselves and to lay proper plans for the effective achievement of their own dreams and goals. Real leaders of men and women understand that followers always will rise to the level of expectation the leaders have of them and who instill in all of their followers.

Leaders of men and women are always great Encouragers and Uplifters of other people.

Leaders Gotta Lead………………
