At Just That Point In History

We believe that the death of Christ is just that point in history at which something absolutely unimaginable from outside shows through into our own world.  And if we cannot picture even the atoms of which our own world is built, of course we are not going to be able to picture this.  Indeed , if we found that we could fully understand it, that very fact would show it was not what it professes to be—the inconceivable, the uncreated, the thing from beyond nature, striking down into nature like lightening.  You may ask what good it will be to us if we do not understand it.  But that is easily answered.  A man can eat his dinner without understanding exactly how food nourishes him.  A man can accept what Christ has done without knowing how it works:  indeed, he certainly would not know how it works until he has accepted it.

We are told that Christ was killed for us, that His death has washed out our sins, and that by dying He disabled death itself.  That is the formula.  That is Christianity.  That is what has to be believed.

                                                                 C. S. Lewis

                                                        A Year with C. S. Lewis

It is written in the Holy Scripture, which is the infallible truth of God, that there is only one God….The One and Only God who created all of the earth and that which exists upon the earth.  This God is The Triune God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.  God is One Person,… coexisting in three forms.  God, the father.  God, the Son.  God the Holy Spirit.

Scripture further tells us that there is only one way for any human being living on this earth to get into Heaven after he passes from this physical life that we know and understand today.  Passage will occur at the instant of physical death.

This fact and truth is recorded in The Holy Bible in The Book of JOHN 14 : 6:  NKJV

(6)   “Jesus said to him, ‘I am THE WAY, THE TRUTH, and THE LIFE.  No one comes to the Father except THROUGH ME.’ ”

Prior to that instant of death the effected individual must have voluntarily believed in his own heart,… accepted in his own mind,… and professed with his own mouth,… that Jesus Christ was born of a virgin, lived and taught on this earth, was crucified on a cross and his shed blood there from washed away once and forever more all of our sins, known and unknown, past, present, and future.  And also that God raised Him from the dead on the third day to sit at the right hand of God in Heaven as LORD and MASTER.

Once the individual confesses his own sins and asks Jesus to forgive him of those sins, then a verbal request asking Jesus to come into his life and become the individual’s Lord, Master, and Savior needs to be made.

At the completion of this act of request, the individual is accepted by the Lord into the Family of God.  His salvation has been completed and his future forever is assured and he will dwell in Heaven forever (his life after death) with his Lord, Master, and Savior.  The sting of death has now been defeated.

The entire process is recorded in the Holy Bible in the Book of  ROMANS 10 : 9-13:  NKJV

(9)    “that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.

(10)   For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

(11)   For the Scripture says, “Whoever believes on Him will not be put to shame.”

(12)   For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek, for the same LORD over all is rich to all who call upon Him.

(13)   For “whoever calls on the name of the LORD shall be saved.”

These are rather simple instructions and relatively easy to follow.  They are ABSOLUTE AND CANNOT BE CHANGED OR MANIPULATED IN ANY WAY.

Our God of all Creation desires for all of His children to receive His Salvation and thereby insure their Eternity in Heaven with the One who actually created them at conception.

C. S. Lewis was correct, as usual, when he said ….“by sacrificing His life on the Cross, He disabled death itself.”

God’s Greatest Blessings to all of you.
