Children Are Our Most Valuable Natural Resource

Children are truly a Gift from God

There are two most important words for a success oriented individual to live their life by,…to conduct themselves with,…and to control their personal actions and activities. These two words are gratefulness and thankfulness. Without knowing about them and using them in all of your life experiences, you will surely miss out on many great blessings and rewards.

Success is a planned event. It is not an accident. If you are not planning on succeeding, then I must tell you that you are automatically planning to fail by default. Deciding to not do something that is required for your own success to occur is the guarantee that you will not succeed. Self destruction is the biggest enemy of most people who greatly desire to achieve great success.

Children of any marriage union become the greatest of all assets of the marriage. This is all God’s manner and way so designed for a woman and a man to become obedient to God’s instruction and complete the cycle of reproduction and regeneration…to perpetuate the species. God desires all human beings to be obedient to His commands. The entire program commanded by God to his creation is all clearly stated within the pages of the Book of Genesis, Chapter 1, verses 26–31 NKJV:

(26) “Then God said, ‘Let US make man in OUR image, according
to OUR likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of
the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over
all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on
the earth.

(27) So God created man in His own image; in the image of
God He created him; male and female He created them.

(28) Then God blessed them, and God said to them,‘Be fruitful
and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion
over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over
every living thing that moves on the earth.’

(29) And God said, ‘See I have given you every herb that yields
seed which is on the face of all the earth, and every tree
whose fruit yields seed; to you it shall be for food.

(30) Also, to every beast of the earth, to every bird of the air,
and to everything that creeps on the earth, in which there
is life, I have given every green herb for food’; and it was
so.

(31) Then God saw everything that He had made, and indeed it
was very good. So the evening and the morning were the
sixth day.”

So, we can clearly see and understand from the Holy Scriptures that God created man and woman. Subsequently He commanded man and woman to be fruitful (bear children of their own) and multiply their numbers, and lastly to take dominion over all other things on the earth, and subdue them. May I tell you that God intended for man to be in control of all other things on and in the earth, and not for such other things to be in control or exercise dominance over man! Does that statement “frost” anyone?…anyone need a coat? Truth is unarguable and I have just told you the truth! Can you handle it? The author of this irrefutable truth is none other than the Originator, the Creator of the Universe,…God Himself.

Please permit me to continue this discussion about children, how to properly build good relationship with them, and how to raise them up in the way that they should go, and finally what they mean to a marriage union…..and the partners of this union.

As all of you weathered veterans to this website know, I am a serious student of history…all kinds and types of history. I truly believe that history is one of the most valuable sources on which to base accurate predictions of trends, events, reactions, and people movements that will occur in the present and the future. This is primarily because of the undisputed proven truth that mankind has an unquenchable desire to learn nothing from history and thereby continue to repeat the very same previous actions, efforts, and mistakes of their past.

With that in mind, permit me to tell you a short story about a great man of history, Martin Luther (1483–1546) and what he had to say and what he did with his own children. Perhaps some of you discerning readers or listeners can gain some valuable insight as to how to raise, love, and respect your own children. This man was a German Friar, a Catholic Priest, a professor of theology, and a main player in the 16th century movement in Christianity known later as the Protestant Reformation.

Martin Luther, earthly father of six wonderful children had a personal reputation as an excellent father who used just the right manner and mix of strong discipline and compassionate love. He personally believed and lived the philosophy: “Punish if you must, but let the sugarplum go with the rod.” He composed songs for his children, all the while playing his lute while his children sang the songs. In addition to composing songs for his children he was also a prolific writer of letters to each of them individually. These precious and most important communications of love, respect, trust, and relationship are true “jewels” in the Luther family heirlooms.

As it was widely known, Martin Luther had an especially tender place in his heart for his daughter, Magdalena. Luther wrote concerning his precious little girl, “God has given no bishop so great a gift in a thousand years as He has given me in her.” When this little girl became ill at the age of fourteen, he prayed constantly for her, finally praying “I love her very much, but dear God, if it is Thy holy will to take her, I would gladly leave her with Thee.” And to his little “Lena” he said, “Dear and so precious little daughter of mine, thou wouldst love to remain here with they father; art thou willing to go to that other Father?” His little girl replied, “ Yes dear father, just as God wills it to be.”

When little Magdalena died, Martin Luther wept long and hard and as she was laid in the earth he spoke to her as to a living soul: “You will rise and shine like the stars and the sun.”

The vast majority of we human beings think of natural resources and riches as coming from the earth. May none of us have to lay a precious child into the earth to realize that our child has been far more valuable to us than all of the earth’s physical riches.

God speaks to all parents, as well as all people of the earth, about the value of each and every child produced through the physical union of a male and female. His Word discloses to us what each child procreated by man and woman really is as He originally designed them to be. God says in Psalms, Chapter 127, verses 3–5 NKJV:

(3) “Behold, children are a heritage from the LORD,
The fruit of the womb is a reward.

(4) Like arrows in the hand of a warrior,
So are the children of one’s youth.

(5) Happy is the man who has his quiver full of them;
They shall not be ashamed,
But shall speak with their enemies in the gate.”

The commandment from God to the married men and women is to bare and rear many blessed and properly raised children. You see, God can and does see much further ahead than do we humans. He knows in advance what every grand parent eventually discovers in the senior years of their lives as their days to enjoy are waning away. Grand children are going to be your greatest joy! Well, it is no secret, the way to many grandchildren and all of the blessings and joy that go with them is to be in your youthful years totally obedient to God’s commandment to you….and….“Be fruitful and multiply.”

Have a Great Forever……………..
