How many of you folks wished you would have had a Multi-Millionaire grandfather who left a fortune of an inheritance for all those people who bore or would bear his last name? Wouldn’t it have been fun to have inherited so much wealth that you did not to have to work, struggle, worry, overcome, or just plain be inconvenienced to have had to labor for your food, shelter, and clothing? Can you even imagine how much free time you could have enjoyed. Just think what would it be like to go downtown shopping for anything and not give price a second thought? Oh and how about living in one of those big huge mansions built on 5 acres of manicured landscaped ground with swimming pool and all of the decks, patios, and playgrounds for the children…how would you have liked to have lived with an address of 8910 Easy Street in “No-limits,” America. Isn’t it fun to fantasize,…to dream without restriction,…to mentally dwell on that which you really desire, to reach out and grasp for it even if it stays just slightly out of your reach?
Dreams are the seeds of vision…and vision is the heart of success. Everything that exists today that has been created or established by man all started with a dream in some human being’s mind. Dreaming is a very good thing for people to do.
A most important piece of knowledge that you would be wise to learn and never forget is that in life it is not what you have or don’t have that matters most, but rather, it is what you become,..i.e. the type and kind of person you grow into,…as a result of building your own dreams and goals and related wealth. It concerns what you build and subsequently pass on to the people and causes in which you believe and to which you are committed. Now pay close attention. The success cycle goes like this….The Dream…The Struggle…The Prize. But remember, the bigger the dream, the greater will be the struggle, the greater will be the reward, the prize. Always Dream Bigger Dreams!
In the end of all things, the most important consideration for you and your life-long efforts revolves around what you did with the use of your life and the kind of person you became as a result of going through your own struggles. The major question that you must one day answer is simply did you leave this world a better place when you passed into eternity than it was when you arrived so many years before?
Remember , the only thing that you can carry over to the other side at the instant of your physical death is your personal Character. Everything else in your life stays right where you were when you passed over.
THE MEASURE OF A MAN’S LIFE IS NOT WHAT HE GETS FROM HIS ANCESTORS, BUT RATHER WHAT HE LEAVES FOR HIS DESCENDANTS.
It is really what you achieve while alive and then what you pass on forward to your survivors that really is the measure of what you did with the gift of life that God gave you at your birth. That is what really matters,… what really counts.
The Holy Bible is very clear on this issue of caring for your own family,… of inheritance,…of legacy. God gives explicit instructions to us for what we are to do for the benefit of other people and family members who survive our passing on into eternity. He basically commands us to provide for ourselves and our family and also for our family’s family. Now that appears to me to mean that we are to provide for at least FOUR generations,…ourselves, our children, and our grand children and their families. Remember this is not a request from God,…it is a commandment.
It is all recorded in The Book of 1 Timothy, Chapter 5, verse 8, NKJV:
(8) “But if anyone does not provide for his own, and especially for
those of his household, he has denied the faith and is worse
than an unbeliever.”
God provides an additional warning on the same subject in the Book of Proverbs, Chapter 13, verse 22 NKJV:
(22) “A good man leaves an inheritance to his children’s children.
But the wealth of sinner is stored up for the righteous.”
Now let’s see, that passage tells me that I am required to provide a good inheritance of great value to all of my survivors. If I fail to be obedient and do not do this, then, that which I have made and created, i.e. my own wealth, will be taken from me in some type of manner and will be given to those other people who are righteous and obedient to God’s instructions.
Don’t you agree that it is far better for me and you and our families to be obedient to God’s instructions?
God wants you to use your life here on earth in such a way as to love and serve other people, to help them grow and develop into more than they presently are, and to further their knowledge and wisdom of His Word and His teachings.. He wants all that you do with your life to be done for the Honor and Glory of Himself. He is a very jealous God and wants all of the recognition for what he enables you to do, given back to Him.
He desires that whenever you accomplish something great and powerful and effective toward the benefit of man on the earth, that you also recognize it is He who gave you the power and assistance to achieve your success and accomplishment…not just you alone under your own power.
Now dear friends, God is very serious about you following His guidance. Remember, He wants all the glory for what you do. I hope that that motivates you to do good to your fellow man, to love and assist him in any way possible, to be selfless in serving others, and in doing so, give all the glory for whatever gets accomplished back to God.
If you will do all that He asks you to do, then you will be greatly blessed! That is His Promise to you.
Someone anonymously penned a short poem of truth sometime ago, it is of Great Value, and its discussion should bear heavily on you and your efforts. I want to share with you what was written:
IF
“If I can throw a single ray of light across the darkened pathway of another; if I can aid some soul to clearer sight of life and duty, and thus bless my brother; if I can wipe from any human cheek a tear, I shall not have lived my life in vain while here.
If I can guide some erring one to truth, inspire within his heart a sense of duty; if I can plant within my soul of rosy youth a sense of right, a love of truth and beauty; if I can teach one man that God and heaven are near, I shall not then have lived in vain while here.
If from my mind I banish doubt and fear, and keep my life attuned to love and kindness; if I can scatter light and hope and cheer, and help remove the curse of mental blindness; if I can make more joy, more hope, less pain, I shall not have lived and loved in vain.
If by life’s roadside I can plant a tree, beneath whose shade some wearied head may rest, though I may never share its beauty, I shall yet be truly blest–though no one knows my name, nor drops a flower upon my grave, I shall not have lived in vain while here.”
Spend your life adding value to the lives of other people. Acknowledge and give a smile to all those folks whose path crosses yours. Whenever possible serve all people with whom you come into contact. The joy of the Lord that overflows out of you should be like a river that flows right on into the lives of other people.
You be a river of love and joy…not a reservoir holding any blessings back.
Above all, love and serve your fellow man on this earth while you are alive. And…give all the glory for any of your achievements back to God!
That is the secret for your success…for your happiness in life.
