The Power of Making Right Choices

Man’s biggest self imposed personal problem is that he (or she) simply cannot or will not admit or accept that he or she is wrong and needs to change their thoughts and position on any given and verified weakness he possesses.

What do you mean Dave?  I couldn’t possibly be wrong….could I?

Do I need to change my thinking?  Heaven forbid……right?

My bride would always say to each of us in the family before beginning a new project or even as we started a new day…..just as we were leaving the house,…“Make Good Choices!”

The way that God Almighty designed and engineered each of our human bodies, He made the process of making decisions a relatively simple one so that any and every one could successfully accomplish such a wonderful process.

Here is the overall general sequence of our individual thought processes and the related efforts and actions such thoughts always produce or fail to produce:

SUCCESS IS AN INSIDE-OUT PROPOSITION:

This is the way that it develops….from left to right.

THOUGHTS— IDEAS— PURPOSE—WORDS— ACTION—EFFORTS— RESULTS

Now it must always be remembered that you, and you alone, are the only person who has been given the total and complete control over the use and application of your own mind…your own brain.  No other person can or will make thoughts, choices, decisions, or exercise control over your own brain unless or until you personally give such control of your abilities over to them!

God gave you your own brain.  It is the organ that runs “the show.”  It is the Command and Control Center of your entire  being.  Most importantly it is the connecting link between man and God.

It is for these specific reasons that you indeed are the master of your own soul.  You are the one personally responsible as to where, when, why, and how you think, speak, and do everything that you do!  You are the one who makes the decisions and choices you choose to make.  You are the one who determines the path in life that you will take.

Now this mental process through which you choose to travel is laid out perfectly by your Creator.  It flows together in perfect progression from left to right as a person initiates the process in their trek to accomplish their definitely decided results.  The net result of this process tells us plainly and clearly that if you want different results to occur in your life from what they presently are, then the individual must go back to the beginning and start all over again by changing the manner and way that he or she thinks!

CHANGE YOUR THINKING AND YOU WILL CHANGE YOUR RESULTS—as long as you are willing to stay persistently and consistently at the work task until the job is completed!

Remember the age-old adage: “You don’t know that which you do not know!”

Consequently increased and newer knowledge is the initial requirement to accomplish your newly desired and decided dreams and goals.  The Holy Scriptures back this statement up as is recorded within the Holy Bible, the Book of Hosea, Chapter 4, verses 5—10,  NKJV:

(5)    “Therefore you shall stumble in the day;
          The prophet also shall stumble with you in the night;
          And I will destroy your mother.

(6)     My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge.
         Because you have rejected knowledge,
         I also will reject you from being priest for Me;
         Because you have forgotten the law of your God
         I also will forget your children.”

(7)    The more they increased,
        The more they sinned against Me;
        I will change their glory into shame.

(8)   They eat up the sin of My people;
       They set their heart on their iniquity.

(9)   And it shall be:  like people, like priest.
       So I will punish them for their ways,
       And reward them for their deeds.

(10)  For they shall eat, but not have enough;
        They shall commit harlotry, but not increase;
        Because they have ceased obeying the Lord.”

The word stumble as used in verse 5 above describes how the people were tripped up by sin  and consequently fell to their ruin (See Hosea 5 : 5, Hosea 14 : 1, Isa 3 : 8, ; Isa 40 : 30).

Those who allow the Lord to lead them will not stumble (See Isa 63 : 12—13).

Knowledge in Scripture implies experience, not just intellectual pursuit.  God wanted Israel to experience Him through their loyal obedience (See Hosea 4 : 1); instead, the people and priests violated His covenant law (See Hosea 4 : 2, 7, 8) and forfeited their blessings (See Hos 4 : 3, 9, 10).

The priests were eager to eat up the sin of the people.  They did this by urging the people to offer hypocritical, ineffective sacrifices for sins (See Hosea 6 : 6; 8 : 11—13).  The more the people sinned, the more the priests ate and sold the sacrificed meat to make money.

Like people, like priest—the people enjoyed sin in excess while the priests, who should have been faithful, encouraged it (See Mal. 2 : 1—9; 2 Tim 4 : 3, 4).

Life in and of itself is really a matter of choices.  And, every choice you make, makes you.

Critical questions and choices face you every day of your life:  What will you do for your personal career?  Who will you marry? Where will you live?  How much education will you get?  What will you do for today?  And one of the most important choices you will ever make is Who will you become?

Life and how you invest it…is much more than just a matter of how you hold and play a good “hand” as you would hope to do in a good card game.  To assist yourself in wading your way through the life you are living is to always keep in mind: What you start with isn’t up to you!

Talent is God-given.  Real life is simply playing the “hand” you have been dealt,…well.  Of course, that means knowing what you are doing and where you preplan to end up.  Those answers will be found and determined by the choices you make every day

“Talent-plus people” are the ones who maximize their personal talent, reach their potential, and fulfill their destiny.

It was Dr. Seuss who said it well in his book “Oh, The Places You’ll Go!”  In it he said:

          “You have brains in your head.
            You have feet in your shoes.
            You can steer yourself
            Any direction you choose.”

I can assure you that I personally believe that Truth of Life to be totally true.

I believe that statement to be true and applicable to my self as well as to you.  God is no respecter of persons.  By your actions and the direction they take you, are all based completely upon you making the correct and proper choices as you live out your own life.

Those personal choices will empower you to become a talent-plus person.

Build upon your already existing foundation of your own abilities, and live your life to its fullest potential with great gusto!

I exhort you to maximize your talent by steering your entire life in the right direction!

Peace And Love To All Of You…………………Poppa Bear
