Your Own Brain Is A Self-Servo Mechanism

Some of you readers or listeners may be getting tired of me continually telling you that you can be successful,…that you can do the required work of becoming highly successful, and that you already have all that it takes to make it happen to and for you and your family. Well listen carefully, I keep telling you those truths of life because they are true and they will work for you just as easily and just as readily as they worked for others in the past. What makes it all work and come together,…is that you must do the work yourself. I once heard one of my highly successful business mentors say, “There is not one success principle in the world that will work,…if you won’t,….work.”

My purpose of producing this website (www.davesevern.com) is to be able to share with the world and its people the real and significant truths of life that the really successful people have used to accomplish their own greatness throughout human history. It is not my intention to brag or boast about how much I personally have done or what I think that you need to do to become successful. You see, friends, success is a personal choice. Unfortunately, so is failure. You and you alone have the total responsibility to allow things into your own mind or to make decisions for yourself, or to put forth the effort to help and serve other people no matter where you happen to be and what you happen to be doing.

It is well known that success is not an accident. But rather success is a planned event.

It is just as well known that you do not quit your way to success.

I will tell you that proper preparation to become successful is the most important part of accomplishing it. The decisions necessary to get yourself properly prepared to enable you to properly position yourself to permit a good and reasonable chance to succeed is what the real champions in life fully understand and accomplish. Proper preparation and positioning to succeed puts a person in the right place at the right time, with the right thing to say or do.

Being aligned in the “cross hairs” of success-producing opportunities is what really separates those who succeed from those who don’t.
I once read that it takes the average highly successful person about 10,000 hours of continual advanced preparation before they are in a good enough position to allow themselves a chance to make it big. A question for you, please…Are you properly prepared right now or are you willing to get yourself fully prepared and into a proper position as fast as is possible for you,….so that when your opportunity comes along you are ready to take full advantage of it? Remember, it is your own personal responsibility to get yourself into such a position.

Now listen carefully. Life is a testing place. It is not a resting place. Becoming successful and maintaining high levels of achievement is an on-going, never ending process that trails on and on and on over the course of your entire life. You don’t just become successful and then buy a home on “Easy Street” and clip coupons for the rest of your life. Creativity and productivity are continual on-going functions that never end. It is going to take the rest of your life to become highly successful. Are you up to that? Do you have enough “stick power” to accomplish it?

Permit me to tell you a true story about one of America’s most successful business men. He started out with little or nothing except a big dream and an unceasing work ethic. His name was R.G. LeTourneau. Please keep in mind that all true Success Principles are God’s Laws. They are not man’s laws. Since God is no respecter of persons, His Laws always apply equally to everyone. There are no known exceptions to this statement of truth. What works for one,…works for all.

God created every human being that lives and walks on this earth. He gave each and everyone of them a brain (approx. 3.4 pounds of gray matter) so as to be able to learn and then apply God’s Laws of Success. A decision,…followed by appropriate work habits will permit successful accomplishment. A “Negative” or a “No” decision to become a success results in failure. You will either choose to use your life for greatness or you will automatically choose to use your life for mediocrity and eventual failure. Which choice do you desire to make?

A story please….

R. G. LeTourneau was one of the great geniuses of our time. He was also a born-again Christian Believer in the Lord Jesus Christ. At the time of construction of the huge Hoover Dam in the state of Nevada, outside of Las Vegas,…Mr. LeTourneau was hired on to be the subcontractors for this mega-job for the U.S. Government. For various and unknown reasons, he had underestimated the costs of completing the job for which he had been hired to accomplish. During the construction efforts, Mr. LeTourneau while preparing the proper base on which the dam was to rest, ran into deep solid rock and the cost for fulfilling his commitment became so great that he was forced into complete bankruptcy. In deep exasperation and despair, He turned to God Almighty, surrendered his life to Christ, and became a Christian Believer.

Highly successful businessman and prolific author, Napoleon Hill, played a great part in the recovery and later on once again in the great success of Mr. LeTourneau.

All great success is built upon a foundation of great failures.

Napoleon Hill traveled with Mr. LeTourneau for one and one-half years after his filing of bankruptcy. Many of their late night discussions must assuredly have covered the topics of failing and recovering and trying again and again until new success is reached. Mr. Hill shared this story about one of his business trips with Mr LeTourneau: “One night when Mr. LeTourneau finished his lecture, he and I went into his private airplane. The pilot took off, and Mr. LeTourneau sat on one side of the center isle and I sat on the other side directly opposite of him. It wasn’t long before LeTourneau was praying silently and in his prayers he fell sound asleep. He was a huge bulk of a man and he was sleeping deeply.” Napoleon Hill said, “I’ve seen people walk in their sleep before, but I have never seen anything like this.”

“In his sleep, LeTourneau reached into his pocket, pulled out a notebook and a pencil, wrote something in the notebook, and put it back into his pocket without so much as opening his eyes. Oh the human mind is such an incredible thing of divine creation. The sub conscious section of the human brain never sleeps. It is wide awake and fully operating to serve it’s owner 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. When the airplane landed and he awoke, I said, ‘Mr. LeTourneau, do you remember writing anything in your pocket notebook?’ He said no. He quickly reached into his pocket, pulled out his notebook, and was totally shocked to see what it was that he had written. He said, ‘That’s the answer I have been searching for! That’s the solution to the problem I have been facing! The invention is now totally complete!’ ”

Mr. R.G. LeTourneau went on to become the largest builder and most successful heavy equipment contractor in America, and that is precisely how his big breakthrough came to him. Thought and prayer are the connecting links between God and man. It all occurs through the human brain.

Mine your mind. Get in touch with God. He made your mind and He can tell you how to mine it! When He does tell you,…obey His Instructions. Some of your greatest and most profitable decisions will be made in the least expected times, places, circumstances, and events. This is the reason you prepared and positioned yourself for success long before the golden opportunity ever presented itself to you.
