When God Created Fathers

Dad…God created you first.  The batting order was established in the Garden of Eden.  Occupying this “first” position doesn’t make you better than the woman, it just gives you much more personal responsibility….a bigger, wider, and heavier load to carry.  That is why He made your shoulders bigger and stronger than those of your wife.

Man is to be the “head” of the family.  Woman is to be the “neck.”  And it is the neck that always turns the head.

Oh yes, make no mistake,…Man and woman were created by God for His own good pleasure.  To them, God gave the same creative ability…to create their own children for their own good pleasure.  When that act of love occurs, the reproductive cycle of creation is complete.  What a beautiful thing it is to see and in which to play a part.

Kenneth Caraway once wrote a poem entitled “Life.”  It perfectly tells the whole story.

LIFE

No Box

          “There is no box
          made by God
          nor us
but that the sides can be flattened out
          and the top blown off
          to make a dance floor
          on which to celebrate life.”

Within the original design of God’s plan for all humanity, the foundational building block of every society is the completed family unit.  Once in place, unconditional love then becomes the “glue” that holds the entire family and society together.

For everything to work out and last as God planned it, the man has to be 100% man (All Man) and the woman has to be 100% woman (All Woman).  A happy and productive marriage is definitely a 100/100 percent proposition.

The single most powerful force on earth is a man and a woman living and working together in holy matrimony, with God actively involved in their lives.  There simply is no greater power in existence on this earth.  That is precisely the way that God planned it to be!

When this type arrangement is in place and working as designed, the whole family lives together in peace and harmony.  Good health and prosperity are always sure to follow.

Erma Bombeck was an American humorist whose writings brought joy and happiness to thousands of Americans in and through several different mediums and publications. She originally told this great story about a successful family unit.  Please permit me to reshare it with you.

The Successful Family Unit

“When the good Lord was creating fathers, He started with a tall frame.

A female angel nearby said, “What kind of father is that?  If you are going to make children so close to the ground, why have you put fathers up so high?  He won’t be able to shoot marbles without kneeling, tuck a child into bed without bending, or even kiss a child without a lot of stooping.”

And God smiled and said, “Yes, but if I make him child-sized, who would children have to look up to?”

And when God made a father’s hands, they were large and sinewy.

The angel shook her head sadly and said, “Large hands are clumsy.  They can’t manage diaper pins, small buttons, rubber bands on pigtails or even remove splinters caused by baseball bats.”

And God smiled and said, “I know, but they are large enough to hold everything a small boy empties from his pockets at the end of a day, yet, small enough to cup a child’s face.”

And then God molded long slim legs and broad shoulders.

The angel nearly had a heart attack.  “Boy this is the end of the week, all right.”  She chuckled, “do you realize you just made a father without a lap?  How is he going to pull a child close to him without the kid falling between his legs?”

And God smiled and said, “A mother needs a lap.  A father needs strong shoulders to pull a sled, to balance a boy on a bicycle or hold a sleepy head on the way home from the circus.”

God was in the middle of creating two of the largest feet anyone had ever seen when the angel could contain herself no longer.  “That’s not fair.  Do you honestly think those large boats are going to dig out of bed early in the morning when the baby cries?  Or walk through a small birthday party

without crushing at least three of the guests?”

And God smiled and said, “They’ll work.  You’ll see.  They will support a small child who wants to ride a horse to Banbury Cross or scare off mice at the summer cabin or display shoes that will be a challenge to fill.”

God worked throughout the night, giving the father few words but a firm , authoritative voice and eyes that saw everything but remained calm and tolerant.

Finally, almost as an afterthought, He added tears.  Then he turned to the angel and said, “Now, are you satisfied that he can love as much as a mother?”

The angel then shutteth up!”

Always remember that God made the world and all that is in and on it in perfect working order and properly balanced.

EVERYTHING GOD MADE HAS ITS OWN PREPLANNED PURPOSE.

It is always better to work with God and His creation than it is to try to buck Him and His Laws and go against His grain.

And now you know what your real purpose truly is.  Go in your own power and fulfill it!
