No Plan is Worth the Paper it is Printed on Unless it Starts YOU Doing Something.
James 1 : 21–25 NKJV:
(21) “Therefore lay aside all filthiness and over-flow of
wickedness, and receive with meekness the implanted
word, which is able to save your souls.
(22) But be doers of the Word, and not hearers only, deceiving
yourselves.
(23) For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is
like a man observing his natural face in a mirror;
(24) for he observes himself, goes away, and immediately
forgets what kind of a man he was.
(25) But he who looks into the perfect law of liberty and
continues in it, and is not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of
the work, this one will be blessed in what he does.”
Success is the progressive realization of a worthwhile dream or goal.
Success begins in a person’s mind. The process of achieving success,…of turning the dream into a reality,…begins with a personal decision. A decision that you are going to become successful, that you are going to make it happen,…that you are not just trying to succeed, but rather that you will be successful. Once that quality decision has been made and cemented into person’s brain, all that remains before the dream comes true is a matter of simply staying consistently and persistently at work on the required efforts necessary to turn the dream into reality,…until it is actually achieved…no matter how long it takes and no matter what is required. The dream becomes the catalyst that internally engages the dreamer to passionately pursue and keep on pursuing the accomplishment of the dream itself.
The entire process all begins with an individual first having a worthwhile dream that is big enough, clear enough, and important enough to arrest the full attention of the individual who has the dream…May I ask you,…Do you have a dream that meets this described definition? Big enough dreams always carry along with them a mighty work effort for completion. Too small of a dream requires little effort to complete and therefore can easily be overlooked, forgotten about, or swept under the “rug of life” and postponed because of other more important priorities.
If your dream is to be accomplished it is going to have to become a top priority in your life. You are going to have to mentally think about and dwell upon it everyday. You are going to have to work towards the completion of it a little bit everyday. You are going to have to talk about it all the time. The Holy Word of God tells us in the Book of Proverbs, “out of the abundance of the heart, flows the tongue.” This truth tells us that whatever is in your spiritual heart (your own brain), is what you will be thinking about and therefore speaking about all of the time. It is not rocket science for you to quickly discern whether or not a person possesses such a qualifying dream to get them on the road to their own success. If they have such a dream in their own mind, it will in very short order begin flowing out of their own mouth.
You do not have to have all of the answers to all of the possible questions that may arise once you begin pursuing your dream. All you need do is to actually begin performing the required work efforts and make adjustments as you go. Flexibility is one of the greatest character traits of all successful people.
I am a Viet Nam War Era veteran. I served in the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. I love America and I love my fellow military service men and women. Had it not been for the sacrifices these men and women voluntarily made at specific times over our history, we would not be recipients of the freedoms and liberties we now enjoy.
Permit me to tell you the story about the Viet Nam Veterans Memorial in our nation’s capital, Washington D.C. This story is proof positive that even when things look like they are far beyond your own ability to complete,… there is always a continuing opportunity to finish the job as long as you never give up on the dream.
Always remember, “when the dream is big enough,…the facts don’t count.”
All of God’s Laws of Success apply equally to any and all persons, in all situations, and in all circumstances. If you will only do your part first, then get out of the way and let God do His part,… in the end, all things will definitely work together for good.
You don’t need everything in place in order for you to begin…just getting started,…just beginning with what you have,…just the way you are,…is really being half done.
In May 1969, Jan Scruggs’ infantry unit was attacked by the Viet Cong. Scruggs received serious shrapnel wounds and was sent home to recuperate. He felt like he was one of the lucky ones.
After his U.S. Army service, Scruggs earned a collegiate degree in counseling. At this point in his life, he began to establish a “dream” in his own mind of building a memorial to his fellow soldiers in recognition of their combined efforts and sacrifices in Southeast Asia,…but he allowed the idea to drop from the forefront of his thoughts. He picked up the “dream” again in 1979 after he saw The Deer Hunter, a powerful movie about the impact of Viet Nam on a group of small-town friends. This time he was determined to turn his “dream” into reality! Although he had no organization and very little money, Scruggs used his own funds to set up the Viet Nam Veterans Memorial Fund as a nonprofit organization and held a press conference with the national media to announce his plans. He immediately assembled a tremendous volunteer team of fund raisers, and in July 1980, Scruggs and his volunteers were awarded a site next to the Lincoln Memorial. They were given five years to raise the money for construction. In a fundraising blitz, Scruggs and his volunteers raised the money needed for the Viet Nam Veterans Memorial…three years ahead of schedule!
Never forget…The key to success is not how big your goal is, but rather how big your internal drive is for reaching it!
Just get started and then, under no circumstance, do you ever give up or quit performing the necessary work ethic needed to complete the dream.
Is your dream big enough and clear enough in your own mind to get you started doing what is required to convert your dream into reality?
