Why is it that so many different people attempt to become successful and yet year after year only about the same one per cent actually achieve their desired levels of success? Why is it that thousands of people can hear the same instructions and directions as to how to achieve success and yet only a handful actually get the teachings and put them to use and achieve the success that they are after? How many times does a person have to be taught something before he actually “gets it” and uses the knowledge he has and accomplishes his chosen success? There is a How to succeed and there is a Why to succeed. What is the most important of the two?
There certainly are a lot of different questions surrounding the subject of achieving personal success. But are the real answers to those multiple questions available to the average person? Is the correct order of events really out there to be obtained and put into use so as to enable any individual to actually become successful?
The answer to all of these questions is a resounding “YES!” All the answers and their correct order of progression are all known, taught, and obtainable for anyone’s personal use. But they have to be searched out, studied, internalized, and then put into application.
I have come to know from my 37 years of “hands on” personal training of other people as to how to become successful in the owning and operating of their own businesses that although the correct information has been and continues to be taught to the masses of our population, the vast majority of those people who have been properly instructed, simply have not listened well and learned the knowledge that they were taught! Everyone has a different mental intensity, ability to hear and understand, and the focused attention span that enables them to grasp the concepts they are taught and make the necessary changes in their personal efforts that puts the things that they have been taught into action. Learning is one thing, knowing is something else, employing what you know is still something else.
Success is an “inside-out” proposition. It all starts on the inside of you, i.e. in your own spiritual heart (your brain). Success begins with a Dream….your own dream. This dream has to be big enough, clear enough, and important enough to you so that it motivates you to learn and act and to continue to act using your learned knowledge until enough work has been performed to enable you to turn your dream into reality!
Accomplishing your chosen or desired levels of success is totally dependent on you. Knowledge is a wonderful thing. However all of the knowledge in the entire world is worth absolutely nothing until it is put into action and used, applied, or employed.
So your personal success and your achieving it all begins within you. It begins with you having a big enough desire (Dream) to motivate you to begin to move,… to start to learn what and why the required work ethics are and how to put them into proper use. Once you have the necessary knowledge, you must put it all into constant and persistent usage, making any needed adjustments along the way as you go about building your business vehicle.
Now listen,….no one can or will dream for you. No one can or will learn for you. No one can or will do the required work for you. Success is all up to you! It all depends on you learning what to do and how to do it. It all depends on you having a big enough dream to internally motivate you to keep learning, growing, and working. Your dream has to be important enough for you to achieve that it will sustain you through all of the personal learning and growth required for you to reach your heart’s desire. Your dream (your why) has to arrest your attention to the point where it is always at the front of your mind. It has to mentally dominate your thoughts. That is the only way that it will sustain you through the negative circumstances and tribulations that you will encounter on your journey to accomplishing your chosen level of success.
You will always pay a mighty price for the accomplishing of personal success. Never be afraid of pay the price of success. Anyone can pay it. However only a few actually do pay it and accomplish it. The reason for this great differential is that only a few are serious enough to decide to succeed no matter what, and have a big enough, clear enough, and important enough WHY (Dream) that will move them to action and consistent/persistent on going action until their dream is actually accomplished and achieved.
The details, the How of becoming successful, is in reality not that difficult. Actually it is quite simple. It is for that very reason that we all know that anyone can become successful if they will but learn what to do and continue doing it until the job is completed. However, it is the continued daily/weekly/monthly on going work ethic and the failure to stay steady at the work ethic, to stay consistently at applying it,… that takes the deadly toll.
You will remember from previous blogs, that according to the Social Security Administration, only 2 % of the U.S. population will accomplish true success, i. e. achieve total financial independence, and personal freedom. These are not just the handful of specially selected people. They are everyday common men and women who are extraordinarily internally motivated to overcome whatever it is that they must overcome and do whatever is required for as long as is necessary until they accomplish their personal mission! They are people who have a big enough WHY that internally drives them to continued expended efforts and energy until they produce sufficient financial means in order to turn their dreams into reality.
You see, dear ones, BIG THINGS are nothing more than a whole lot of little things put all together into one container or area. Little things stacked one on top of another will always accumulate into one great BIG THING.
So to accomplish your chosen level of success, I would tell you that the Dream, the WHY is the first thing of major importance relative to your personal journey to success. The why is what gets you started.
And when the why is right…..then the HOW becomes really easy to perform.
The Why comes first as it gives you the individual a cause, a reason, or a purpose to grow and change. The How is much easier to accomplish when your why is sufficiently large and important.
