The soul of any man\u2019s life is the heart of the man.<\/b>\u00a0 <\/span>It is the control center for his honesty, integrity, and character.\u00a0 <\/span>The soul is the command and control center for all of the man\u2019s thoughts, decisions, and subsequent actions.\u00a0 <\/span>A man\u2019s soul is not a kind of food or a style of music.\u00a0 <\/span>It is the seat of man\u2019s desire, the place where all of his \u201cwanting\u201d resides.\u00a0 <\/span><\/b>The soul is the nonphysical part of every human being that completely sets us apart from all other animals.<\/span><\/p>\n

Your soul is made up of your mind, emotion, and will; it\u2019s the place where you think and feel and choose.\u00a0 <\/span>When your soul is satisfied, you have everything, even if you have nothing.\u00a0 <\/span>When your soul is not at peace, you have nothing no matter what you have attained or acquired.\u00a0<\/span><\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

Soul work is hard work…very hard work.\u00a0 <\/span>Failure to extend the effort demanded of gaining soul work and its benefits has us stuffing our demanding souls with all kinds of selfish, super attractive but unsatisfying scraps of life that the Bible calls sin.\u00a0 <\/span>This sin cuts a swath of destruction\u00a0across a man\u2019s life like a full blown tornado across an Iowa cornfield.<\/span><\/p>\n

So now from this point forward, you sir,…have a real major decision to make and effect.\u00a0 <\/span>You need to choose what you are going to do about making the much needed changes in your life…about making some new decisions and taking the related actions about doing some critical soul work in your own life.\u00a0 <\/span>You need to turn from those things that have only made you restless and miserable, and to get busy on the role God created you to fulfill–which will bring a joy you never thought possible.<\/span><\/p>\n

One of the single most important things you need to do in order to initiate your own soul work is to begin and maintain a daily reading habit.\u00a0 <\/span>You should read good books and you should also read on a daily basis, the Good Book, The Holy Bible.<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

By and large, most men generally don\u2019t read many good books or spend extensive time talking and counseling with the other few men who do read, an read, and keep on reading….them.\u00a0 <\/span>Sadly, most men consider it a mighty chore to consult the instruction manual about how to correctly operate or assemble something–and would rather build it twice than to study something longer or more involved than the athletic contest play-offs or championship tournaments.<\/span><\/p>\n

I would be so bold as to tell you that most men are famously known to refuse even the \u201ctwo-second\u201d step of reading road signs or a travel map.\u00a0 <\/span>Of course, I must point out that reading a travel map (which is more pictures than words and therefore not real reading at all) is in a totally different category of understanding.<\/span><\/p>\n

Book retailers will readily tell you that most books are read by women, even the books written specifically for men.\u00a0 <\/span>I mean after all, the man says, \u201cWhat would be the point?…I am just too darn busy failing to take the time to read and improve myself and my position…Aren\u2019t I?\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

It is man\u2019s God-given directive to meet and fill all of his family\u2019s needs.\u00a0 <\/span>He is to provide for and protect his family at all costs.\u00a0 <\/span>That, of course, cannot be accomplished from the \u201cnon-performing\u201d position.\u00a0 <\/span>Neither can it be accomplished from a mental condition of ignorance.\u00a0 <\/span>Said in another way\u00a0 <\/span>in the form of a question,…\u201cCan a man make intelligent decisions, followed by a committed effort to completion,…if he does not know how to do that?\u201d\u00a0 <\/span>The obvious answer is \u201cNO!\u00a0 <\/span>He Cannot.\u201d\u00a0 <\/span>Remember, bad decisions always carry with them worse results!<\/span><\/p>\n

The purpose for my website, www.davesevern.com is to provide ample information and intelligence to any and all men and women who are facing the big and real issues of their life and who need a major turn-around in their life!\u00a0 <\/span>This discussion is not intended to be just a bit of personal advice from good old Dave.\u00a0 <\/span>Rather it is to provide you a way to begin building a new you.\u00a0 <\/span>It is to begin a total make-over renovation of what you are and what you are doing with your life and why you are doing it.\u00a0 <\/span>Remember the words at the home page of this website.\u00a0 <\/span>You cannot possess that which you do not pursue with passion.<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

Successful people are always flexible and self examining. They eagerly make appropriate changes to themselves and their lives whenever necessary,…even if the changes are painful.<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

You see, special friends, if you have grown weary with living from day to day on only sex and sandwiches or some other type of silly and unproductive things or activities, then it is time for you to begin making needed changes.\u00a0 <\/span>It is time for you to change your course…to change your life.<\/span><\/p>\n

Real men understand simplicity. \u00a0<\/span><\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

There is a simple but most effective little phrase that says: SIBKISS <\/b>which when translated means See It Big…Keep It Simple Stupid.<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

Kiss has become an acronym for the stupidity of not keeping things as simple as possible. <\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

This procedure is especially important for men who want to change and grow much bigger and better than they presently are.\u00a0 <\/span>The stupid guy is not always the one with the least amount of measured intelligence.\u00a0 <\/span>But rather the stupid person is the one who cannot put complex truth in such a manner and way that everyday men and women can grasp, understand, and appreciate it.<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

You can always learn something very significant from the Holy Scriptures.\u00a0 <\/span>For instance, the Apostle Peter used just six verses (151 English words) to describe in detail and thereby illustrate the proper role of women in marriage. (See 1 Peter 3 : 1–6).\u00a0 <\/span>Isn\u2019t it interesting that this same Apostle used only one single verse (38 English words) to describe a man\u2019s responsibility to his own wife (See 1 Peter 3 : 7)?\u00a0 <\/span>You see, friends, real men like things all boiled down to their very essence…to the bottom line so to speak.\u00a0 <\/span>Their attitude is \u201cgive it to me quick and then let me get after it.\u201d\u00a0 <\/span>Men also like things given to them directly.\u00a0 <\/span>They do not like beating around the bush or long drawn-out flowery extra words and phrases.\u00a0 <\/span>They prefer to get things straight forward and directly put.<\/span><\/p>\n

Real men have a well developed Spiritual Root for their lives.\u00a0 <\/span>Therefore I will always use as my primary point of reference the Holy Scriptures,…The Holy Bible.\u00a0 <\/span>I do this because in so doing you the reader or listener won\u2019t ever have to just take my word for what I am saying to you.\u00a0 <\/span>The authority I stand upon whenever I write to you, is God\u2019s Word,…not mine.\u00a0 <\/span>The second reason I reference the Holy Scriptures as the basis for all I write to you is historical in nature.\u00a0 <\/span>God\u2019s Word has been redirecting men\u2019s hearts and minds for thousands of years, and we all do well to show it great respect, and carefully consider its message.<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

I am undeniably and unquestionably an Christian Believer…a follower of Jesus Christ.\u00a0 <\/span>This is always the perspective from which I write or speak. The good news of the gospel of Jesus Christ is that God loves all sinful men and women, regardless of who they are and what they have or have not done.\u00a0 <\/span>Christ did not come to this earth to condemn them or judge them; He came to save men and women, to rebuild them, and to transform them for His purposes.\u00a0 <\/span>I will tell you that God takes men and women\u2019s lives who are stuck in sin and selfishness and He \u201cre-boots\u201d them. \u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The contents of the various articles and discussions included in all of the sections of this website are designed to tell the Truths of Life from the perspective of God\u2019s unconditional love for all mankind.\u00a0 <\/span>God Almighty took hold and charge of my life on July 9, 1977 at 11:15 A.M. in Spokane, Washington.\u00a0 <\/span>He has never let go of me.\u00a0 <\/span>It is the desire of my heart to love and serve Him for the rest of my life.\u00a0 <\/span>I have chosen to use this technology of the internet to carry out what I know to be God\u2019s commands to me….as best as I am able.<\/span><\/p>\n

This website, in general, and this article, in particular, is prepared for all types and kinds of readers or listeners.\u00a0 <\/span>If you are just an average guy or gal who is working at a career or job that you love or are not always crazy about, and you have a good family, but one that is stressed out and too often hassling its other members, or if you once thought that you were put here on earth to do something great and beneficial for all mankind, but have somehow settled for less than originally intended and now are just glad that you are gainfully employed and bringing home a paycheck, or if you are single, or single again, and you seem to be just spinning your wheels going nowhere important,…you truly need the information provided to you <\/b>through all sections of this website,<\/b> www.davesevern.com<\/a>.\u00a0 <\/span>Become a registered member<\/b> of the website and prepare and position yourself for a much greater and higher level of life. \u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Now a note to those of you men who are unmarried.\u00a0 <\/span>Never loose sight of the fact, you singles,…that there are millions of amazing and available unmarried Christian women out there in the world just waiting for you to get tired of the going-nowhere life that you are living. These single women want to meet you and get married and settle down and get serious about building a legacy of Christ-honoring kids and grandkids.\u00a0 <\/span>If you seriously seek them, you will, in fact, find them.<\/span><\/p>\n

So now back to you Mr. Mrs. or Ms. regular person who loves their family and friends dearly, but finds it tough at times to verbally tell them how you really feel, or who goes to church on most Sundays but doesn\u2019t always get much from it and sometimes won\u2019t even think about God again until next week, or who calls themselves a Christian Believer and sometimes prays, but usually only in a sentence or two and only in times of great desperation; who wants to know God better but wonders why it always seems like too much work to get to personally know Him.\u00a0 <\/span>And to you ma\u2019am, to you sir, who has enough money to pay the bills and tries not to buy dumb stuff you cannot afford,…a foolish mistake you never want to make again.\u00a0 <\/span>To you friends who are about getting the job or the mission done and properly completed and who would never call yourself unhappy, but truthfully, who doesn\u2019t have any extra of time to even think about such things.\u00a0 <\/span>Or to you average person who is not really concerned with fashion, who isn\u2019t overly punctual or neat and who is not a fan of fake anything,…to you friend, who knows you are nothing special; who knows you are an average person, just another face in the crowd, or a member of the forgotten majority; an average person whose voice is not heard, his thoughts are not sought out, and his opinions seem totally unheard in the noise of the world\u2019s loudmouths who would rather be infamous than anonymous,…It is to and for you this discussion is being held. \u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

This average individual is most usually a person who knows what they claim to know and who is a stand-up straight-ahead type of human being.\u00a0 <\/span>He is not complex, but rather quite predictable.\u00a0 <\/span>You pass him on the street everyday.\u00a0 <\/span>He, she, or they may work with and beside you or even live in your own home with you.<\/span><\/p>\n

What this average person really needs is to be more open about the things he or she struggles with and with the values they personally profess to have.\u00a0 <\/span>They don\u2019t need bling, fluff, or fancy things to be happy, they are just good wholesome and caring people looking for an opportunity to improve themselves and their plight. These average folks epitomize the many things that makes us the same, and, simultaneously, that make us different as American men and women.<\/span><\/p>\n

You see, beloved, these average people get angry about injustice, especially towards women and children.\u00a0 <\/span>They like sports but don\u2019t live for them.\u00a0 <\/span>They love a close game, especially if the underdog pulls it out in overtime, because Mr. or Ms. Average always feels like the other regular folk around them could use a helping hand, could use a leg up in this crazy world.<\/span><\/p>\n

Thank you Lord for the average people.\u00a0 <\/span>And thank you for allowing me to help and serve them.<\/span><\/p>\n
