\"\"<\/a>The greatest benefits about having and developing a serious reading habit is that the more you read, the more knowledge and information you are taking into your own mind. The more knowledge and understanding you acquire from your reading habit will constantly keep you in a state of learning more information which provides the basis of keeping yourself in a continual state of mental growth. A well exercised mind (from reading) is a healthy and long lasting contributor to great physical health as well.<\/strong> Of course, the content of your reading material is a personal choice, but if you truly do desire to become highly successful, then you need to have a daily dose of good knowledge, understanding, and wisdom as to what you should be doing and what you should be getting at doing.<\/span><\/p>\n

There are indeed many varied and different types of sources of reading material. Personal preferences enable you to make your own choices. I personally much prefer the printed material (physical hold-in-your-own-hands type of reading material) for my own personal use. There are lots of different reasons for my preference…I like the way a book looks,…the way it smells,…the way it feels. A physical book or other printed document, permits me to be able to underline, high light, or make margin notes on any page of the printed material. I can make annotations on the important pages and on the blank pages at the front and\/or rear of the book. I like my library where I can \u201cat-a-glance\u201d see what books I am looking for to read, reread, peruse, or find, as a quick reference point, regarding the subject matter about which I am studying, learning, or writing. I just like books!<\/span><\/p>\n

Now I fully realize that we are living in a computerized world today. So What! Electronic data eliminates most of the reasons I prefer books or printed materials from which to study and learn. Therefore, as a free American, I have the right to like what I like…and so do you!<\/span><\/p>\n

Another big reason why I like the printed books or a printable PDF as a source of material and knowledge is that there are many wonderful books and other printed material that are not in electronic format. God\u2019s Laws and The Truths of life never change, regardless of the method of delivery.<\/strong> If there is great Truth that I want to learn about and it is not in computer format, then without the book available to me, I am \u201csunk\u201d as to getting what it is that I desire. I just don\u2019t like being in a \u201csunk\u201d position… How about you?<\/span><\/p>\n

With all of that said, permit me to share with you some extremely important information and wisdom that comes from a conversation between two of America\u2019s most successful businessmen, Napoleon Hill and Andrew Carnegie. I am certain that what I am about to share with you,…can be a life and career changing piece of information… IF…you choose to use it.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

This website, www.davesevern.com<\/a> began with the whole intent of helping and assisting other people who desired to become better and more successful at what they had chosen to do with their lives. When it was initiated, my desire for it was that it would be a great teaching, training , and equipping source document for developing and assisting anyone who<\/span>\u00a0chose to subscribe to it,…to become a leader, a success, a better man or woman, husband or wife, father or mother, human being, and a better American.<\/span><\/p>\n

Although broad in scope, it was originally designed to be specific in nature.<\/strong> Such a desire was accomplished by presenting the information included within my website,…in to many different and yet interrelated sub sections…each of which would delve deeply into what I consider to be the important areas of The Truths of Life. Using this method, I could present important materials, knowledge, understanding, and wisdom of the ages so as to enable the most important areas of life to be honestly and openly discussed and taught with total integrity.<\/strong> This website was never intended to be a source of amusement even though it does contain large quantities of humor. It was intended to shorten the readers\/listeners \u201clearning curve\u201d as they pursued their own individual plans and purposes to their own chosen arena of success!<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

It has long been a complete mystery to some people,…why men or women with little or no formal schooling often succeed, while other men or women with extensive formal schooling are failing all around them. The mystery is easily solved if one will but pay attention and look around the people in question using an \u201cexamining eye.\u201d Here is precisely what you will discover.<\/span><\/p>\n

The great successes in life are the result of an understanding of… and a purposed use of… a \u201cPositive Mental Attitude\u201d through which God Almighty aids both men and women in converting their aims and purposes (Dreams and Goals) into their physical and financial equivalent.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cMental Attitude\u201d is a quality of the mind which was well designed to give power to,…an individual\u2019s thoughts, plans, and purposes for the use of their lives.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Please permit me to share what these two American Icons had to say to each other.<\/span><\/p>\n

HILL: \u201cHow long does it require, Mr. Carnegie, for one\u2019s mental attitude to begin attracting the physical and financial requisites of one\u2019s major purpose?\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

CARNEGIE: \u201cThat depends entirely upon the nature and extent of one\u2019s desires, and the control one exercises over his own mind in keeping it free from fear and doubt and self-imposed limitations. This sort of control comes through constant vigilance, wherein one keeps his mind free of all negative thoughts and leaves it open for the influx and the guidance of God Almighty.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

It is for this very explicit reason that one cannot separate, eliminate, or cull God out of the subject matter used for the teaching or the achieving of true success in a person\u2019s life.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Mr. Carnegie went on to say. \u201cThe best way that I can think of to describe the time necessary for the translation of a major definite purpose into its physical or financial equivalent, can be accurately stated by determining the exact time necessary to deliver the service, or the equivalent in value one intends to give in return for the object of that purpose.\u201d<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

There is a definite connection between getting<\/span> and giving<\/span>. Victory, achievement, and accomplishment of real success hangs in the balance of learning, knowing, and putting to use what this \u201cConnection\u201d truly is.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

HILL: \u201cAm I to understand, from what you say, that all of God\u2019s Laws do not favor an attempt to get something for nothing?\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

CARNEGIE: \u201cEverything connected with nature and God\u2019s laws is based upon cause and effect. Generally speaking, riches and material things that men get are the effect of some form of useful service they have rendered. My fortune did not come to me until I had delivered to others definite values in the form of large quantities of well-made steel.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

While it is true that all success begins in the form of a Definite Major Purpose, it must be properly emphasized that the only known way of insuring that a definite purpose will be carried out to a full realization, through the forces of God\u2019s Laws working through the minds of men, is by first establishing a cause for such realization, through useful service, rendered in a spirit of complete harmony.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

People who cannot get along with one another or who always have to have things work out in their personally preferred way or according only to their personal interpretation will never succeed to any great levels. Flexibility, compromise, and a willingness to change and adapt to the circumstances through harmonious efforts interconnected to and with other people are the things which always produce success.<\/span><\/p>\n

A Truth of Life is simply that UNITY always precedes HARMONY.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

UNITY is one of the three great powers of life. Only those relationships and operations that exist and rely on total unity during the performance of all required work ethics, will be the ones to survive and to succeed to their desired levels of accomplishment.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

UNITY is the glue that holds people and organizations together and keeps them productive over the long term.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n
