It has recently been brought to my personal attention that I should bring about more clarity as to just Who is the God in whom I personally believe and whom I so often refer to in my messages and articles published within the confines of this website, www.davesevern.com. I must admit that I certainly thought that I had already made with great clarity that significant point of reference in all of my writings and discussions. In particular within the articles and discussions of the Premier Membership Sections, especially within the Spiritual Believers, Developing Your Faith, and the Great Men & Women of History Sections (most particularly in the Heroes of the Bible subsection). Obviously such a designation has been either missed or misunderstood by some of the users of this website. Please permit me to make my position and point of reference perfectly clear from this point forward so as to avoid any misunderstanding or confusion that might further arise.

I believe in and worship the Almighty, Creator, God
of the Holy Bible.

I believe in the Triune Godhead,…the Trinity,…
God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.
Three separate persons in One.

I am a Born-Again, blood-bought, Christian Believer and Worshipper of My Lord, Master, and Savior, Jesus Christ. I have been spiritually saved and have been baptized (fully submerged) in obedience to and in accordance with the instructions given by God Himself within the pages of the Holy Scriptures. I believe that the Bible is the Divinely Inspired, inerrant, infallible, God-breathed, true Word of God.

I believe in and worship God Almighty, the Creator of all the Universe and everything on and in it. I believe in the Great I am, the One and Only true God,…the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. I believe and trust in all of the Holy Scripture as being the true truth of life itself, without error, mistake, or contradiction.

I believe in my Living Lord Jesus Christ; who was born of a virgin; who came to the earth as a testimony of the truth; who lived and preached for approximately 33 years; who was then crucified and died on a cross in Jerusalem as full payment for all my sins: past, present, and future; who was buried in a borrowed tomb; and who was three days later raised again, from the dead, back to full life, as the Living Son of the Living God, and whose Living Holy Spirit guides and directs all Christian Believers today. I believe with all of my heart, mind, and spirit that Jesus Christ is the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world. May I say to you that there is only one mediator (only one) between man and God. That mediator is the Lord Jesus Christ.

I believe in the words, guidance, and direction given by this one God in both the Old and New Testaments, without any exceptions or other conditions. I believe in the true truth concerning the salvation of man’s soul as stated in the Book of Romans, Chapter 10, versus 9—13, ESV:

(9) “because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord
and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the
dead, you will be saved.

(10) for with the heart one believes and is justified, and with
the mouth one confesses and is saved.

(11) For the Scripture says, ‘Everyone who believes in him will
not be put to shame.’

(12) For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek, for the
same Lord is Lord of all, bestowing his riches on all who call
on him.

(13) For everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be
saved.”

I am indeed a Believer in the saving grace of God through the person of the Lord Jesus Christ. I am a sinner, saved by grace. Make no mistake about it! Nothing on this side of heaven could or will ever make me change my position or perspective on or about this most precious personal and eternal matter.

My hope and belief in God is the same as is described to us through the old gospel hymn entitled “My Hope is Built on Nothing Less.”

“My hope is built on nothing less
Than Jesus’ blood and righteousness;
I dare not trust the sweetest frame,
But wholly lean on Jesus’ name.
On Christ, the solid Rock, I stand;
All other ground is sinking sand.”
