If At First You Don’t Succeed

One of the biggest challenges I have today with the youth and adults of our nation is how little they know about how to work hard, how to totally commit to doing the things they say they want, and how to develop the tenacity to persevere and grow their dreams and goals to higher levels of living.  They just don’t “get it.”  They just don’t understand that there is no “free lunch;” there is no real and honest “quick and easy” way to accomplish great and important undertakings and desired accomplishments.  For this very reason, people just seem to waste years and years of their lives looking and searching for something that they can never find.  Now I ask you,…How foolish is that?

If it really is success that you are seeking, then I exhort you to first define what “Real Success” personally means to you, and then make certain that you spend your time and resources pursuing only that which you desire and for which you are willing to work hard and consistently in order to be able to achieve.

Success is defined by successful people as being the “progressive realization of a worthwhile dream or goal.”

Now what I have just told you all boils down to you first having a mighty DREAM.  A dream so big, so clear, so important to you, and so critically necessary for you to realize, that you cannot live without it.  You simply must have it.  Such a huge dream is needed so that it totally “arrests your attention.”  Such a large sized dream will cause you to focus your thoughts about this dream becoming yours to enjoy and live with everyday, and thereby cause you to  think about and dwell upon it “all of the time.”  Having such a huge dream will get you through (will sustain you) through all of the negative forces and experiences that will come against you as you are working towards the actual accomplishment of your dream.

I would encourage you to become a premier member to www.davesevern.com and to search through the archives of my website and find and make copies of other articles I have published that discuss how such a dream is established in your own mind and more importantly what it means to and for you once you have firmly established such a focused thought process on or about that which you simply have to have.

You see, your brain was so designed by your own Creator so that when properly used, it will actually take you on a path of life that will bring you into contact with all the right people, places, and events that are required to assist you in accomplishing all that will be demanded of you as you realize and achieve your own God-given dreams.  This is a God-given ability.  It was freely given to you by God at the instant of your conception while you were still in your own mother’s womb.  Sure this a mysterious thing, but so are most all of God’s interactions with his own “Creation.”

Please permit me to tell you that this mysterious happening can and will only come about by you taking your own personal responsibility to develop and passionately pursue your own dream.  That means that you will be using your own time, money, resources, talent, and other abilities and the assistance of other people and events that God will bring into your life as you live it in the passionate pursuit of turning your own dreams into your own reality.

I would encourage you to listen once again to the admonition given to you by God Himself in the Holy Bible in the Book of Romans, Chapter 8, verses 26—30  ESV:

(26)   “Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness.  For we do
not know what to pray for, as we ought, but the Spirit
himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for
            words.

(27)    And he who searches hearts knows what is the mind of the
Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints
according to the will of God.

(28)     And we know that for those who love God all things work
together for good, for those who are called according to
             his purpose.

(29)     For those whom he foreknew he also predestined to be
conformed to the image of his Son, in order that he might
be the first born among many brothers.

(30)     And those whom predestined he also called, and those
whom called he also justified, and those whom justified he
             also glorified.”

You see my friends, I must tell you, in as loving a way as I possibly can, that no matter who you are and what you are, your personal Creator, God Almighty Himself, prearranged things on this earth for you so as to assist you in accomplishing His predetermined will for your life. He equipped you in such a manner and way by giving you all of the talents and abilities you will ever need that will allow you to accomplish His dreams for you through the use of your own mind,…IF…you will but learn how to use this wonderful “asset” that rests between your own ears.

Truly, God wants you to succeed.  He desires for you to be prosperous and be in good health, but such will not happen for you unless and until you first develop a personal relationship with God through a personal relationship with His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ.  Only you can do that for yourself.  Personal relationships are just that,….personal.  This is precisely why people work hard all of their lives and never seem to accomplish very much at all….they have no such real personal relationship with their own Creator.  Oh don’t misunderstand me, they know about Jesus Christ,…BUT…they do not know Him personally.

If you are truly desiring to accomplish great success in your life, make absolute certain that you first invite Jesus Christ into your life and develop a strong and loving personal relationship with Him.  Then through prayer and study as a “born-again believer” you will come to discover God’s will for your life.  From that point forward it simply a matter of you passionately and consistently  pursuing your life’s purpose.  The journey will take you the remainder of your life here on earth to accomplish.  That is precisely why real success is indeed the “progressive realization of a worthwhile dream!”  Real success is for certain a long-term process.

Now please hear me well so that you completely understand the process of accomplishing real and lasting success.

You cannot win them all.  While you are traveling your own road to success, there are going to be lots of bumps-in-the-road; lots of obstacles, roadblocks, detours, dangers, toils, and snares.  It is all part of the preplanned purpose for your life.  In order to get to the finish line you must  consistently and relentlessly persevere.  You must be willing to stay at the consistent work habit required to accomplish your own success.  The word that describes it best is that you must possess the character trait of stick-to-itiveness.  There simply can be no quit in you.

You must be willing to work hard, before you will ever be able to learn how to work smart.  No other person can or will be able to do the necessary work for you.  Others may assist you, but will never do the work for you!

There is a Divine purpose and reason for everything that happens to you while you are passionately pursuing your own life’s purpose.

The purpose and reasons for these interruptions is all disclosed in the Holy Bible in the Book of Romans, Chapter 5, verses 1—5  ESV

Peace With God Through Faith

(1)     “Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have
peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.

(2)      Through him we have also obtained access by faith into his
Grace in which we stand, and we rejoice in hope of the glory of
     God.

(3)     More than that, we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that
     suffering produces endurance,

(4)     and endurance produces character, and character produces
     hope,

(5)     and hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has
been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has
     been given to us.”

What you must understand from this discussion is that by always leaving room for God Almighty to be part of your life’s work in all that you do, you will then be operating on His power and might and not your own.  He tells us in His Word that “Greater is He who is within you than he who is in the world” (See 1 John 4 : 4).  Once you become a “born-again believer,” He (God Almighty) is in you!  You would be wise to first ask for His assistance.    And then welcome everything and everybody who comes into your life as you live it here on earth with joy and thanksgiving, not complaint or exasperation.  And out of all the experiences and encounters that come into your life, you use the experiences to grow bigger mentally, physically, emotionally, and spiritually as you passionately pursue the progressive realization of your own dreams.

If you are a “Believer” in the Lord Jesus Christ and have accepted Him into your own heart and mind, then nothing happens to you by accident.  Everything and everybody is all part of the prearranged plan God has for your life!

It will all happen for you if you will simply get back up immediately and go back to work after every time you ever get delayed, derailed, or knocked down!

You cannot stop someone who will not be stopped!

Peace and Love to All of You………………….Poppa  Bear
