What you see is what you get! It is an old saying but it is just as true today as it was when originally coined. My sweet mother used to always say, “one man’s trash is another man’s treasure.” She also often mused, “beauty is in the eye of the beholder.” You see, blessed friends, everything in our own lives is all a matter of our own perspective….how we view the things, people, and events that happen to us, in us, or around us makes all the difference in the world as to how we see it. Things can and will be either a blessing or a curse, a benefit or a punishment, a positive or a negative. Everything is either good or bad. It all depends on how and from what angle we view it. Perspective matters!
Success in business operations or in your personal life is a direct result of you overcoming problems and obstacles that come up before you. You won’t have to look very long or hard to find a problem or obstacle. They seem to show up fairly regularly and at any and all times of the year.
All ideas have consequences. It is the idea that comes into your mind that triggers other thoughts and solutions as regards solving the problems that arise and/or exist in your life. Great ideas always precede great achievements and accomplishments. The only thing necessary to have a great idea enter your thought processes is for you go on about your daily activities, and keep a sharp look-out for problems and challenges of all sizes to pop up in front of you. This will happen and when it does, immediately ask yourself, “How can I avoid or overcome this problem or challenge?” Your answer to this question will be your own great idea!
You have heard it said many times before that you will get precisely that which think about and speak about most often in your life. You will indeed possess that which you confess.
The one thing that you need to do in order to have a great business opportunity or break-through present itself to you is for you to start speaking about that which you desire to have happen. Just start asking yourself,….“How can I help other people avoid or overcome the self same problem that is confronting me?” Your personal answer to that very question will be an opportunity on which you may personally capitalize and even convert into an operating business vehicle for yourself. This dear friends is the precise purpose of and for the creation of this very website….to help others.
Solving new or existing problems that confront you requires a new, changed, or completely different perspective. The great genius physicist, Albert Einstein once declared: “It is impossible to solve problems that exist for you by using the very same thought processes you were using when the problem was initially created.”
Speaking from and about your own thought processes, you must always keep in mind that whenever you perceive a set of circumstances and you determine them to be or pose a problem to or for you and your planned efforts,…always remember that it was your own mind,…thoughts,…and ideas that created this problem. The self same set of circumstances or conditions viewed by another person, just might not be perceived as a problem or obstacle. It is possible that it may appear to that other person to be at best, an opportunity, or at worst, a minor and short-lived detour,… along their own road to success. What one man discards, another man gathers.
We humans are all different,….very different. You are going to discover, as have I, that for all the people who identify and locate “problems” and allow those problems to stop all of their progress towards their set goals and planned dreams,…that there will be just as many other people who under the very same conditions and circumstances will use their problems or conditions as a spring-board to take them even higher on the ladder of success and to provide them even greater and more profitable opportunities to succeed.
Remember, problems perceived as obstacles to your own success were conceived and produced within your own mind. They were concocted using your own thoughts processes. Such perceived problems and obstacles are much like a movie set. Although the landscape, background, or situation you or the audience is viewing appears to look one certain way: either good or bad, pretty or ugly, calm and peaceful or chaotic and scary,… All one has to do is walk around to the rear side of the movie set…the other side of the created “backdrop,” and immediately another different perspective will be observed. The other side will be found to be comprised of nothing more than paper, canvas, and cardboard all of which will be supported and held up by a lattice work of small pieces of lumber nailed, stapled, or taped together. Nothing will be scary,…nothing will be frightening,…nothing will be insurmountable. Indeed a new and different perspective will have been gained.
Do you truly want to be successful? Then don’t be afraid to embrace a problem and thoroughly look at it from all sides and angles. Seek the opinions of others whom you respect. As a word of caution, when you seek other people’s input, don’t pollute their thinking or ideas about a possible solution by identifying your perceived conditions or circumstances as problematic or unworkable. Keep your own opinions and beliefs to yourself. Share your desires and concerns with the person whose opinion you are requesting and then shut-up and let this new mind, this new thought, this new personal observation be given and received. All you need do is to lay out the facts and get their perspective on the situation.
Fact: Problems and Opportunities rarely come into your life labeled as such. The really big ones usually just show up unidentified and unannounced.
Look for the benefit, blessing, and reward….seek the hidden treasure…it will always be there. The truth is,…you will always find what you are seriously looking for….what you are seriously seeking.
One final closing point….Since you will always find what it is you are looking for…always look for the good, for the positive result, for the solution to the problems you are facing. If you go through the day looking for problems, you will surely find them. If, instead, you look for solutions and opportunities, they will begin to appear everywhere around you.
The secret is this. You determine that from this point forward for the remainder of your life, that you are only going to look for the key to your own personal success in every situation you encounter. Let God take care of the rest. You do your share, and let God do His share. O yea,…you will not be disappointed with the final results.
