Am I The Only One Around Here Who Will Work?

Whenever it comes to getting the really important things done, finished, or completed that simply must be accomplished, it seems that all too often there are very few, if any, other people who want to buckle down and go to work and complete the mission. It can become so very frustrating to the new inexperienced upcoming leader, entrepreneur, or first time risk-taker. Permit me to lay out the portrait scenario I am trying to paint for you:

You get exposed to a new and very exciting opportunity that provides a basis for you to personally grow as a human being, increase your personal wealth, and become a leader of other people. It all looks almost too good to be true, but, in fact, it is true,…it is honest,… and it is legal! It is a “no-brainer” choice to get involved for yourself and all other people who you care for and who are looking to get ahead in life,…save some money,… have some legal income tax advantages,… and make some money. You can’t miss if you will only perform a few simple work steps, move your product or service into the hands of a few retail customers, and simply share the opportunity with other open-minded friends, casual acquaintances, and/or complete strangers. Not too difficult of a thing to do,….right?

You and, if you are married, your wife get all fired-up. You now have a chance to create the wealth and freedom that you have so longed for in your struggle-filled life. You say “yes” to the opportunity,…sign up in it,…and launch your future. Financial freedom appears in your sight,…to be just up ahead, right around the next corner.

Now remember, no one has promised you anything else but an opportunity to take a chance which will allow you to personally create your own financial future. There are no guarantees,…no something-for-nothing business ventures,…no get-rich-quick schemes. Just an honest and legal opportunity with the potential to help you achieve your own success. If you are to create the rewards and financial benefits into your own life,…you are the one who is going to have to do the work!

Hi…Ho…Silver!…..Away! Off you go into the unknown. “Open up some new and bigger bank accounts, Honey, we are going to need them!”

It doesn’t take very long as you plunge into your business building efforts until reality sets in! You thought you knew everything you needed to know about people, helping other people, human nature, the weaknesses of the flesh, and business in general. In very short order you realize just how much you really don’t know. Only after a few days, you don’t see immediate financial results,…you have discovered that there aren’t as many ambitious open-minded people in your home, community, circle of close friends, and family as you originally thought there were,…you have stumbled a time or two in attempting to present the opportunity to other folks,…and some other human beings for no real reason have openly criticized you for starting your own business and becoming an entrepreneur….These and many other happenings initiate some ugly thoughts about your personal choice of opportunity to begin creeping into your own mind. Fears, doubts, questions, and considerations begin to occupy way too much of your mental energy. Well-meaning family, friends, and relatives just have to chide, dig, and ridicule you for attempting to do something more for yourself and/or your family than just working a job and continuing to struggle with money problems. For some odd and unknown reason, those folks closest to you feel impelled to heckle and discourage you and your spouse. You are at this point in a very dangerous position,…teetering on the outer edge of the “quitters cliff.”

You may, at this point in your newborn “chance-of-a-lifetime,” begin to think you are the only one who has ever been here where you now find yourself. Trust me,…you are not! You may begin to ponder thoughts of giving up, and/or you may have simply “thrown-in-the-towel” on your own dreams and aspirations because of your lack of faith, unpreparedness, and your never-before-admitted unhealthy low self-image.

You say….Oh, Dave,…you are just too harsh,…too hard spoken,…too tough….No Sir,… I am not! I am just being totally truthful!

Now hear this! never,…never,…never give in! Never give up!…Never Quit! Good, right and proper things in life always work if you will only do the work to cause them to happen,…and continue to do the work even when nothing else appears to be happening. One of the most important things that separates winners from losers is that fact that winners, i.e. those folks who always win…always succeed,…in the long term are always those people who refuse to quit working….They refuse to lose!

Persistent and consistent application of the proper and required work ethics is the foundation of all achieved levels of personal success…..regardless of the endeavor or the arena in which you apply them!

If you can continually dream about what it is that you desire to accomplish,…and if you can practice sufficient self-discipline performing the required work ethics necessary to turn your dream into reality, no matter the circumstances and conditions surrounding your work habits,…then you can succeed and achieve your goals and dreams…as long as you do not quit working….even if No One Else is working along beside you!

Words are critically important. They all mean very important things and always convey other implied things, information, or ideas. I ran across a cute little story that I will now share with you, as it relates the very points within the confines that I am attempting to discuss with all of you.

Always remember that (1) human nature never changes and that (2) people and their habits and actions are all very easily predictable as is learned from knowing about and analyzing human nature. People change, times change, places change,….but human nature never changes.

If it is truly your personal desire to become successful, then you are going to discover that it is none other than YOU who will end up doing most of the work that will be required to achieve your own success!

This little story gives a full and correct answer and explanation to this discussion’s title: Am I the only one around here who will work ?

Once upon a time there were four young men who were very close personal friends and had been such since grade-school. It seems they were almost inseparable. Whatever one did, the others immediately joined in with them and began to work and/or play together, usually without even being invited to join. These boys were always working and playing as one.

Their names were:
Tom Somebody,
Dick Everybody,
Harry Anybody,
and
Joe Nobody.

Together they were the best of friends,
But I must confess that
when it came to doing the difficult things in life,….they weren’t very good.

You see, whenever they were given a job,
They all began to fight.
Because this is how it always went;

Everybody was sure that Somebody would do it,
And Anyone could have done it.
But in the end Nobody always ended up with the task.

When Nobody did it,
Somebody was angry because it was Everybody’s job.
But Everybody thought that Somebody would do it instead.
Now,…Nobody realized that Nobody would do it.

So consequently Everybody blamed Somebody
When Nobody did what Anybody could have done
In the first place.

Now don’t start arguing yet
because I have another story
about these same four friends to tell you;

As you may have guessed,
These four were fun, active, busy people
But what they accomplished was a shame and Everyone knew it.
You see Everybody had a good idea,
But Everybody thought Somebody would follow it through,
However Somebody thought Anybody would work on it.
And Anybody thought Everybody should do it.
So Nobody ended up working on it…AGAIN!

Now one day a contest was announced,
All the boys were sent to enter.
Now Everybody thought Anybody could win the prize.
Anybody thought Somebody would win.
And Somebody thought Everybody would get a prize.

Nobody was the smartest of the four.
And Nobody was very faithful.
Nobody worked very hard
Thus Nobody won the prize!

This scenario explains exactly why so much and so many great and glorious blessings and benefits that God has ready, available, and waiting for everyone are never received or earned…..All because Everyone sits around doing nothing waiting for some one else to do something. Procrastination is the worst of all the killer diseases of personal success.

The personal mantra of all successful people is “If it is to be…It is up to me!”

Do not stand on the dock of life waiting for your ship to come in…..Swim out to meet it!

Peace and Love to all of You……………..Poppa Bear
